Nice one!.

Did this website risk meltdown thisย  morning Demonland?

Will NOT get a scrap of work done today. Nothing productive, all day, nothing. Soz, clients, but KOZZY HAS RE-SIGNED! Everything else will just have to wait until tomorrow.

Iโ€™m whooping and crying like a crazy person and my son just asked me why I was so happy and did I just win Tattslotto. I said, โ€œBetter than that.. KOZZYโ€™S RE-SIGNED!!!โ€ He said โ€œWhatโ€™s a โ€˜Kozzieโ€™.โ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Bless his ignorant lil heart!ย

So excited I left a sentence unfinished!

Great news... his development physically (Look at him now) ย and experiences is really clicking this year. ย He has become such a dangerous player over the whole field, not jus in the fwd half.

Given how young is still is and talented, the future is bright as he makes such a difference to the dynamic nature of our side.

I didnโ€™t realise it was King's Birthday round coming up already!

I can't begin to say how wrapped i am about this. I just love watching him play footy so, so much.

Already one of my all-time favourite dee's player, only one demon player is ahead of him for me in terms of just loving watching him play, and that's the Wiz - and now he is dee moving forward i'm sure in time i won't be able to split them

Big, big tick to the footy club for how they have managed this situation - and all the other recent big contract negotiations, including Jacksonโ€™s - which by the by is increasingly looking like pure genius.

They have locked away not only our best players, but heart and soul players.

Salem, Maxy, Trac, Oliver, Gus, Lever, Petty, Nibbler, Viney, May, Fritter and now Kozzie all locked in (not sure where langers is at contract wise).

Add Rivers, Mcvee and Sparrow all recently resigning and Grundy and Hunter being in the first year of multiyear contracts and we are in fantastic shape list wise.

That is all down to the off field team and is yet another reminder that sustainable on field success is not possible without quality governance and management systems.ย

Iโ€™m teary eyed and over-joyed!
We are an outstanding club, with outstanding people and an outstanding culture.

Going off the statement it seems like the club involved his family a fair bit in this process which is very professional from the footy club. So kudos to them!

ย

And also, culturally appropriate to involve Aboriginal player's families in such discussions and processes (assuming that is ok with said player).

The importance of involving family when negotiation with Aboriginal players (again, with their permission) is reflected in this quote from Kossie:

โ€œThe club has embraced me and my family, and I canโ€™t thank them enough for their support. Everything I do is to make my family proud and the respect and understanding my teammates and coaches have shown us means a lot."

The Alice game will mean so much more now. Thank you, Kozzy. You make those kids so proud and happy. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

Massive relief & result, gee we've become a good club. It would have hurt to loose Kozzy

I just yelled out YESSS! in the office.

F*knuckles I work with think I went overboard. SUCK [censored] KANE

Great news. Wouldnt be surprised if his game picks up too now he has no distractions.

Cornes will swing his attention onto the coaches and who will get sackedย  first.

He'll stick his fork into someone for sure.

Fritter signed until 2026 too

Club doing an amazing job - what a contrast from the dark days when players couldnt get out quick enough

I've never been prouder of this footy club, keeping a list together let alone a successful list is no mean feat.ย

In the past there was always that one or two that had to be sacrificed when we thought we had something building. For the first time ever we have literally lined up all our crucial ducks in a row and got them locked away for years to come. This is an extremely rare position to be in and I can't thank Lamb and co enough for the brilliant work they do behind the scenes to make it happen. Drink it all in people!ย

Well done MFC!!ย

Thank you Kozzi. the next four years is going to be bloody exciting with all guns locked in.ย

Keep recruiting WA boys!!!

Go you good thing Kozzie, never in doubtย

Exciting news.

  • NON-MFC: Round 12

Round 12 kicks off with the Brisbane hosting Essendon at the Gabba as the Lions aim to solidify their top-two position against an injury-hit Bombers side seeking to maintain momentum after a win over Richmond. On Friday night it's a blockbuster at the G as the Magpies look to extend their top of the table winning streak while the Hawks strive to bounce back from a couple of recent defeats and stay in contention for the Top 4. The Suns want to solidify their Top 4 standing whilst the Dockers will be desperate to break into the 8.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.ย  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.ย  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.ย  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.ย

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
