I am absolutely shaken.

This is the first time I have seen or heard anyone involved in AFL media use the word laconic correctly.

Except he sounded more grumpy than laconic.

Reads laconic, didn't sound it.

Oh binman……

laconic

/ləˈkɒnɪk/

adjective

And here I was thinking I'm pretty laconic.

Got that wrong.

Some more mixed messaging to throw people off the scent?

That'll be 3 weeks from the 3-4 weeks, mate. Where's the mixed messaging?

Yze says North.

Goodwin suggest 2-3 weeks away.

I would say he'll be back for the Carlton game which gives him 3 games under his belt before finals. That would be a good result.

We have no business losing to North, regardless of the Clarko factor and the game being at our bogey venue, so I'm happy for them to wait for Carlton.

So going by reports he will be another 3 weeks on the sidelines. This must be the most intricate and troublesome hamstring of all time. A three week injury might now be 10,11 maybe 12 weeks. There also may be a possibility that we won't see him again this season. This after Goody said what 4 weeks or so ago he needed to pass one more test! Must be excruciating for him not to be out there and as a stellar player, sheer frustration for us supporters. Having said that, Jack Viney is in career best form and so too is Trac. Hope he plays soon as he is pivotal to our Premiership chances !

The longer this goes on you begin think about "what else could it B" it's strange to say the least. Right now it still has the ring of 426 at this point.

Have to agree but I like to think we are just holding him back and get him going just before finals...

A fresh Clarry could be the difference

Whatever the case is, we have to get it perfectly right as there's not much wiggle room left before finals. A re-injury now would be catastrophic.

Agree, but Soo frustrating.

It’s a tendon injury. They are difficult to get right. There’s nothing else to it except that he can’t run at full speed with confidence. Until he can do that he won’t play.

Goody said 2-3 weeks in his presser but Yze said he is likely to be back in a fortnight.

The poor guy just lives for footy - he must be even more frustrated than all of us combined.

Get well soon Clarrie.  Looking forward to you coming back fully refreshed and raring to go.

I can imagine Clayton Oliver being incredibly frustrated.

He is such a competitive beast.

His fiery discussion with Selwyn Griffith proved this. He just wants to be out there playing footy!

Anyway, best that he just takes his time to fully recuperate so he can be cherry ripe for the finals.

The positives are that we won games against Coll and Bris without him, and that he will surely be fresh and ready to go when he returns ready for finals

Has been great to see Riv, Sparrow, etc lift in his absence

Would like Trac to play more forward when Clarry returns

Did anyone else see the topic and thought his hammy had blown up again?

Anyway, Yze sounded really confident on radio that he's on the right path and will playing games within 2-3 weeks.

(I've learnt not to hang off every word Goodwin says in his interviews)

If he can get the last 3 games in before finals, then that would be a good result. Even better if we can knock off Richmond without him.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
