disagree on Bate and Dunn, agree on Jamar and Brown. Sylvia needs to take a long hard look at himself and go in and get the ball, just because you go at no. 3 doesn't mean your gunna make it

Agree on everything but the Bell assessment.

Yet again, the guy gets no credit. He did an incredible job on O'Keefe, the sort of player who always rips us apart.

After being smashed in the head 3 weeks in a row, he stood tall again tonight and was composed. His disposal is getting better and better.

I think that you have to give credit to both Bell and Rivers who, time and time again, are willing to leave their opponent and help out a teammate.

Being a defender in times like these, is truly a horrible job.

Bate was much better this week, but a real pity about the injury.

Miller should never EVER be put in the position he was put in tonight. He has played one good game on Hall, where Hall kicked badly. He is a completely different player up forward, and gives us a target when everyone else is down. His goal kicking is ordinary (maybe he's gone to the Cameron Bruce school of kicking?), but his overall disposal is getting better and smarter every week.

He's making real progress up forward, why shatter his confidence by letting Hall rip him apart? Thank god the experiment only lasted a quarter.

White got beaten badly

PJ actually looked OK when he was put into the ruck, in the limited time he had contesting the ruck work he looked better than White and Jamar.

I agree with this. White is the most overated player on our list. If we rucked with Jamar and Johnson, we would do no worse in the ruck or around the ground than we already are.

I thought Sylvia has struggled when he is put forward. I thought he actually did a lot better tonight when moved to half back.

White's game was extremely disappointing. I think he needs to play the Peter Moore Ruckman roll now where he plays a kick behind play. I was hoping this was going to be Jamar's year, but he's almost gone - provided nothing tonight.

Bell was good.

I haven't seen a replay as yet but mine and my dads initial opinions were fairly similar to joeboy's.......

Apart from Bell who was good, despite a shocking kick for goal in the third and a couple of errors, he was given a tough assignment on O'keefe and held him pretty well. He definitely deserves a hell of a lot more credit than he gets. He was everywhere and against the odds damn good.

Miller was leading all day and again worked very hard and looked pretty good (his goal kicking still needs work obviously but he took some nice marks, which can only be a good thing for his confidence), after the first fifteen or so minutes, and should never be put back again. There was a noticeable groan from the crowd when he went to Hall in the beginning.

And his switch forward, which automatically made us look better, could possibly have been the quickest positional change Daniher has ever made!!!

Petterd had a really great debut and his goal in the last was great to watch, Davey was fantastic, Yze didn't completely suck, Bruce got a lot of ball but didn't seem do a hell of a lot with it (he needs to have some target practice), and Godfrey seemed to be everywhere and trying very hard.

But the problems were in the middle, again, I am not sure just how many clearances we actually won but it really couldn't have been too many. The ease in which the Swans were taking it away and out of the middle was embarrassing. And this is despite the full hearted effort from Moloney.

Johnstone- very lazy, has to improve his work ethic

P Johnson - Showed more than jamar and used his body well in the ruck against spider and found the ball around the ground

C. Johnson - showed improvement, and more game time will see him improve, but he needs to consistently go for the hard ball like he did last year against the saints and eagles

Bate -unfortuneately injured, but all he needs is time and experience and will improve

Petterd - outstanding debut performance

Garland - made no impact, that's because there was no impact to be made with the way sydney dominated the game

Bell - Getting better with each game he plays, and has been consistently one of our best

Miller - Needs to gain some more strength, with the way bazza handled him and needs to take more contested grabs to make his presence felt

Godfrey - very poor, disposal was no good and the only reason he beat goodes was his injury

Sylvia - same as bate, but he is recovering from injury, although someone needs to teach him the right way to go at the ball like mclean does

Jamar - made no impact, useless in the ruck and up forward, doesn't no how to read the ball in the air and kicking was poor and he will probably be delisted unless he can doing something about it

the problem with godders is that even though he did well on goodes (who got injured) was he had 4 critical errors (the age)

and that will always be the problem, when bartram is back i dare say godfrey will dissapear

i am still smiling over petterd, look forward to seeing him play against port

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
