I don’t think Tom would want to change numbers. He won a premiership playing in his current number.

I also don’t think Joel would want #29 as there’s the potential for comparison to his dad.

Keep 32 Tom.

You share it with another Dees player who won a Premiership at 21 years of age - Barry Vagg.

Cam Bruce played a lot of footy in 32 also.  It was good for T.Watson and M.Ricciuto.  It has got some weight.

eagle eyed observes would've seen grundy in 6, hunter 12, schache 19 and KFW ?7 (looked like 17 to me...however the only one that would make sense would be 47 due to availability) in the recent training gallery and footage, a matter of we had them in stock due to who wore them last year or an indication of their 2023 numbers i wonder

edit: looks like 47 actually

I think more sizes from previous season

6 Jackson to Grundy

12 Bedford to Hunter

19 Rosman to Schache

Mostly like for like height wise.

I reckon Jefferson would look good in 12.

I am always amazed by these threads on player numbers. It is  a subject I have little if any interest in. As long as the player  plays well I don't care if the player he wears is 1 or 99. Can someone explain the interest in what number a player wears?

Yes it’s the annual “guess what number the new recruits will be wearing”?

Available numbers

2, 6, 12, 19, 26, 28,29,33, 38, 39

recruits

Grundy, Hunter, Schache, Jefferson, Adams, Verrall, Sestan, Farris-White.

with Chandler getting promoted to the senior list, he might be “upgraded” to a lower number

will Moniz-Wakefield get a lower number.  I’d like to think so

You already have half of them wrong. Grundy is 6, Hunter is 12, Schache is 19 and Farris-White is 47. Interesting to see what numbers Jefferson, Adams, Verrall and Sestan are.

Ok.  I didn’t read anywhere that MFC had already had numbers allocated.

I wouldn't take those numbers as gospel, pretty sure they were wearing this year's training kit so it was more a size fit than anything else.

I could see us Holding on to 2 for a bit longer and having Jones present it to a player at a more special time, could even  offer it to a Sparrow or maybe  Chandler if he has a good season

6. Grundy

12. Hunter

19. Schache

26. Jefferson

28. Sestan

33. Verrall (saw him wearing it in U18 footage)

38. Adams (saw him wearing it in U18 footage)

47. Farris-White (seems done already)

39 available for a potential pre season rookie selection.

2 & 29 remain available of all numbers between 1-42. 2 out of respect for Jones until a worthy recipient comes along. 29 just because.

I get the romantic notion of your suggestion but, seriously, how could a change of number possibly make the slightest bit of difference to a player's form or luck with injuries?

Superstitious nonsense.
In fact believing in  superstitions always brings bad luck 🙄

The thing that stands out about this listing, for me, is that we have a hellishly good team. I don't think the players would give a flying pancake about the number on their backs - to be part of this team is a true achievement. We are really going to shake any opposition as we are starting to look like a team, regardless of the individuality associated with respective numbers.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
