Why do it on the river? Horrible decision.

Also, Papley posting that on his social media just shows you what a prat he is.

True but there playing Geelong tomorrow so I hope he kicks 5.

I always liked Sydney tbh, never really hated them. I just want to see Scotts face if Geelong lose lol

The outrage of Scott after a loss - and such an important game, at that - is what I am patiently waiting for as an end-of-season pick-me-up.

The filth need to get over it. Been a long time since I've heard whinging last this long. It wasn't even a clear push, no-one can prove the amounting force used. No hands in the back rules anymore either. We mostly just think it was a push because it looked bad from our position watching from a million miles away. LET IT GO.

I hope someone punches him in the face.

I hope he kicks 5 and receives that gesture

Would prefer to see Syd win but realistically given them no chance. Reckon Geelong by 10+ goals.

Geelong are a class above everyone else this year, and I think the Swans are the last standing of a pretty ordinary cast of contenders this year.

Paddy McCartin, 5 years at the saints and 8 concussions, out of the game, career finished.
I want the swans to win for him. (And cos I really loathe Geelong and their self satisfied, smug coach)

How come they didn’t ask Wayne Carey?

Maybe he was busy crushing up his Neurofen and sorting it into small ziplock bags?

Just did the same. It will make me happy forever. We just want more of that feeling.

Tend to agree with your large margin.

8 of the last 12 grand finals have resulted in that comfortable 5 plus goal margin as the winning team gets on wave of momentum and the loser loses the will to remain in the game.

There is that sense of destiny and inevitability about Geelong this year, while I was very unimpressed with Sydney’s second half last week. They played to not lose the game rather than winning it. That won’t cut it today.

No doubt that Geelong and Scott are terrific operators, kudos to them. Now, with that out of the way, I detest the armchair ride that club get from the AFL and hope that the headrest catches on fire about 4/5 into the GF and the whole thing falls off the tracks.

I’d be more relieved than happy if Sydney won.

The guy who got my ticket for the grand final is staying over to watch it with me. There was one positive light to it being interstate or we’d never have met.

We spent last night watching the 2021 grand final and he told me all about the experience of being there *sigh*

My dreaded incontinence has returned.

Cannot stand seeing all the home-town fanfare, joyous people in awfully mismatched colours, all descending on our own dancefloor. May the heavens open up today again & add a Dan Andrews-type misery to it all.

Game day.  Last year i was confident but nervous.  Stuck in lockdown and couldn’t go.

this year its Geelong and Sydney.  I dislike Geelong, but admire what they have done this year in taking the [censored] gameplan and improving it (we did nothing of the sort).  I hope they lose.

Both Sydney and Geelong get armchair rides from the AFL in different ways.

We were not good enough this year, but until about 5:30, we are still reigning premiers.  After that, I hope we win the off season…

Swans by 11 points (“Luke {Parker}, you are my only hope”!)

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
