They’re doing a 3/4 field drill where they’re marking on the wing but then progressively bringing in into the middle and kicking up the guts into the forward line rather than going to the pockets. Hmmmm

That is how we played Brisbane at the Gabba recently.  Delivery was deep i50 and we scored freely and accurately.

Couldn't understand why we didn't try it last week in the 4th when the game was on the line.

I agree with David King's comments on 360.

I think we can win tomorrow night without Petracca and we need him at 100% against Geelong.

We saw what happened last time he said he was 'right to go'. He was absolutely useless against Freo when he was crook.

This is where the coach needs to step in and think about what's best for the team on the night as well as going forward.

I'd rest him, then load up and throw everything at Geelong.

Players practicing shots at goal now.

Just told goody to put kozzie in the middle for 5 when he and the team need a spark ... completely ignored me 🤣

No Dunstan and Tommo suggests Tracc and Rick will play.

May has a wild shot at goal that lands about 30cm away from Trac's head.

Close one...

Dr. Laura's explanation of the bone injury gives me confidence he'll play and worth a listen.  Its the cork to the calf that's clearly the issue re: pain and movement.

Lever saying at a presser earlier this week that "... Trac trained well for someone with a broken leg..."  isn't helpful, although as Whateley said this week it could become the stuff of legend if we win, and Trac plays at least well or better.

Frisch doesn’t have any strapping on his knee but seems to be sitting out of the drill.

someone asked him if he’s playing. He said hopefully not very confidently on my opinion.

Fritta would believe he still has to be selected despite 53 goals. Or he has been told to play doubtful!!

Sounds a bit like the walking wounded! So we have Trac limping, Fritsch only hopeful of playing, Spargo doubtful, Jackson with a knee injury that requires surgery, Brown with a knee, Gawn NQR (ankle?), Lever with a foot concern, Oliver with a recently fractured thumb. Have I missed anyone? What was that old adage about taking injured players into finals?

Everyone from the week before seems out there and participating ... bowey the exception ... tracc is hobbling a little still although Dunstan isnt out there so hopefully he is ready to go by tomorrow

Just to be clear, TMac and Lever didnt train at all? Or did they join late?

I told Paul Roos to give Colin Garland a go in the midfield. He didn't seem to agree with it. Two weeks later Garland got rotated through the midfield. He was a better Backman. But he did try it.

First time I've seen JVR in person.

He's a seriously big unit.

Yes he looks bigger framed than on the box.  Still plenty of room for some extra muscle in the next few years.  Has a good leap on him.  In marking contests there's a glimpse of Robbo at times.

Penny's finally dropped or is this a common theme at training?

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • POSTGAME: Geelong

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
