BDA 23,048 Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Would a week off be better for him and back the team in to beat the Lions without him? I don't know 5 1 Quote

whatwhat say what 23,857 Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 a week off? if he's got a fracture in his lower leg it's no wonder he could barely get up a jog last night 1 Quote
david_neitz_is_my_dad 4,084 Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Should never have been that front on contact free to Franklin that then caused this injury 1 Quote
Lil_red_fire_engine 11,383 Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Another Buddy special. If he’s less than 70% fit he cant play, if he is it will need to be predominantly forward. The query will still be is a 70% fit Trac better than the next best option. A lame Trac, no JJ and possibly no Harmes likely puts Gus back to the wing leaves us thin in the middle. We’ve just need to put the best team out to win this week. 3 Quote
GCDee 3,202 Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Rest him… would prefer him to be ready to go for a prelim if we make it rather than limping through a semi and being rooted for the prelim 4 Quote

Hairline fracture means the bone is still stable, thus can bear weight. If he can do everything he needs without being pain inhibited, he will play I’d say. One week off won’t make enough difference to the vulnerability of the bone to bother missing. It’s all about the pain. If he can’t play with the pain, then he won’t. The one risk in playing on a ‘vulnerable’ bone (it’s essentially a strut), is if he gets the wrong external contact, the bone is more likely to fracture completely. To be brutal, this would heal happily in the off-season (surgery if displaced) and be good to go in early pre-season. Tough decision, but I reckon we all know what he’d want to do. 21 8 Quote

Lucifers Hero 40,717 Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 (edited) Is there any vision of the incident? And of the incident where he got the corky/contusion Was it truly an accidental or was there an element of the Selwood 'accidental' kick to Oliver's hand about it. Buddy also whacked Petty which brought him to his knees for a while. It was a sniper 'drive-by' hit to the mid riff so not sure if he was winded or it hurt his ribs. It looks like if Buddy can't get a kick he will make his presence felt and hurt opp players. Possibly more damaging than on the scoreboard! Edited September 3, 2022 by Lucifers Hero 6 1 Quote
Jaded No More 68,976 Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 We were blessed last year. Everything went right. This season is the complete opposite. We will be lucky not to go out in straight sets. Trac is a key player and a real finals spark for us. Even if he plays he will be way below his best. 6 Quote
spirit of norm smith 16,679 Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Was moving ok in the 2nd half. Expect to play with painkillers most likely 2 Quote

Huge part of why we finished 2nd. Injuries are not the cause of our current form problems. Disagree with this slightly. We've had a decent year with games lost to injury, but that's in part due to us playing players through existing niggles. IMO that has impacted our performance at times and was a factor in last night's loss as well (albeit not the main one). 5 Quote

He runs franklin down. Runs forward and looks fine until the next stoppage in play when he knows he has been hurt. Stays on the ground but is clearly limping for a good few minutes and not the same for the rest of the game Edited September 3, 2022 by BAMF 3 1 Quote
