I’m pretty sure you can enter through gate four and walk around to your section once you’re inside.

You can't walk from Posford (gate 1) to Shane Warne stand.

I'm pretty sure the barcode includes to gate you must enter.

Otherwise any ticket would allow you to enter any gate ie MCC or AFL members gate.

I purchased another ticket in M2 anyway. Just means I wasted $40.

I've got a spare seat in the middle of the Lions cheer squad (M33) if anyone wants it ($30)

Ok I'm going. That system is ridiculous. No tickets available then they open the next bay and you can sit anywhere you like.

i got  M51 row g. Happy with that I sat level 2 last week, didnt mind it but the atmosphere isnt as good as ground level for mine

Hopefully we have a win my heart couldnt take going out in straight sets.

Not sure you’ll find too many on here who’d wanna sit in the middle of the Lions cheer squad. 😂

As for gate no. entry, I assumed it was possible since I rarely enter through the right gate. Clearly there are some instances where you can enter through a different gate and walk around once inside.

as an afl member i'm now joining the queue

took about 25 mins for the prelim; expecting this to be even longer

why the matches are not staggered ticket releases is mindblowing

That and the selling One bay at a time.

Got a seat I dont like in the Olympic stand right in the middle of everyone for $100 - we better bloody win!

That is what gets me my nose you accept a less than wonderful area and then they open a section you wanted. Mine are ok but it stinks.

If my ticket says gate 1.

Will I be able to get in gate 4?

I just want to stand in M9.

My brother tried to enter gate 3 on Saturday when he had a gate 1 ticket. Turnstile said ‘wrong gate’ and didn’t let him in. I presume the same will happen if you tried.

There is a way to get to M9, albeit convoluted. Enter gate 1, go up to top level Q. It’s hard to spot but there’s a stairway entrance to a walkway which connects Ponsford with Olympic, bypassing MCC members. From Olympic go down to M then walk around to GSS/Shane Warne M9.

edit - saw you got an M9 ticket so all good.

I got in finally as well and got seats in M50. Are they decent seats Jaded? Also, I chose to get my tickets via sms, but nada.

I love M50 it’s where we seat every week. It’s right next to MCC and the Melbourne bench so you see a lot going on.

Sometimes the sms is very slow to arrive. You should be able to login to your ticketek account on your phone and download from there.

Very slow, but I got it finally. Thanks again.

I have been to a lot of Melbourne Final over my lifetime. I have never been to one where they have lost. The fact that I could not get a ticket last week and can not get on this week has me worried.

You are not trying seriously  or aren't a member or Don't try Gen admin tickets in the afternoon.
Qual Final wasnt sSellout do how come you missed out?

the blocks on moving around are (1) the mcc area and (2) the afl members area. If you need to cross either you are out of luck

Got Level 1 open in AFL reserve.

Strongly recommend everyone download the Ticketek app. I had three browser windows on different devices open from 11;50am. Opened the app at 11:58 and got in on the app bang on 12pm. By the time I finished buying tickets and testing a few different areas of the ground it was 12:08 and the browsers were still in queue lol

I live so far away and the 7:50 start just makes it so hard to catch a train home. Once upon a time Vline would organize trains or buses not any more. Trains and trams only go back to Flinders st, no good when you need to get to Spencers St.

IIff you are going to post please post correct information.
Some  trams go to Southern cross a 48 down Collins St. does. K

Lso Trains will go to South  Cross you may have to change stations or go in the Loop but THEY GO!

Also if you are looking for Spencer  St ( Station ) it was changed about 10 years ago to Southern Cross.
May be time to update your Devices or old written notes!!!

Good luck !!

Thanks for that tip re access from Ponsford to Warne. I reckon there may be an attendant there during finals.

Myself and 6 mates all have Redlegs but only ever stand in M9. For the 2000 GF I had to buy 9 seats (in Ponsford). I phoned the MFC saying I was happy to swap for standing room (we stood anyway). The MFC said they were too busy (fair enough). I guess I wasn’t on Dland then.

Few people know there is a "secret" walkway from the top level of the Ponsford that leads around to the other side of MCC to the Olympic Stand.  See if you can find it!

Yeah. Mentioned elsewhere. Handy to know but I reckon it’ll be manned.

My brother used it to see me at Cats Pies. @Clayton spirit didn’t mention it was guarded. He was in M30 and I was at M55 standing room.

…

Some chance a ‘standing supporter’ may want it. I doubt all that area will be Lions.

You can still do that! Via any ticketek agency

You are spot on. Online should work seamlessly, that they release the only two games to be played at the same time defies logic

Plus NRL finals 🙄

I’m hoping there’ll be some $35 GA tickets later today as I prefer to stand.

so bizarre that they control the bays individually and open them slowly

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?
