Lots of Freo supporters don't want Fyfe back and hopes he leaves. They have success without him with the rising kids, they dont see how he fits in anymore.

Ungrateful lot. Fyfe put his body on the line every time he played for them. Only reason they were worth watching for a long time. An absolute brute. And won a brownlow. Stuck with them when he could easily have left.

That Geelong final in 2018 is still one of my all time fav games. Jetta was unbelievable, smashed Selwood in that tackle and when Selwood gave away that 50.

looks to be cold, dry, no wind.....probably similar to recent carlton and fllth game nights

I reckon you are on the money.  On the app I use it suggests that there will only be  a few showers very early Friday morning.
Even the BOM app says the same this time round (it indicated that there was going to be showers for the Carlton and filth games - BOM got it wrong) Perfect football weather coming up.

So for all demon supporters who suffer from ombrophobia ( fear of rain), you have no excuse, fill the G and be very loud! LET’S GO DEES.

Thanks mate. Maybe the Friday night estimates are a bit low then?

In the last couple of days I’ve heard up to 84k expected. That would be unreal if we get close to that Uncle, I’m sure all of us would want the G to shake again like it did after Hannan’s goal in the 2018 EF.

Yep DZ , that was one many great moments in that game.

From my perspective it was sort of surreal. We clearly had their measure and there was this sense of it being a dream almost.

Amazing memories.

Hannan's goal was fantastic for sure. My abiding memory is Melksham from the Hawks game turning on the 50 metre arc and drilling a goal straight and true. We were under the cosh as well so badly needed at the time. Epic goal

Interesting changes for tomorrow night.  Edwards dropped and a debutant for the Lions!

  • IN Darcy Wilmot, Deven Robertson
  • OUT Cam Rayner (Suspension),Jarryd Lyons (Injured),Noah Answerth (Suspension)
  • In Dustin Martin
  • OUT Jason Castagna (Medi-Sub),Shane Edwards (Omitted)

Mitch Robinson is stiff!  and Lyons is a big out

Fagan seems to be very dark on Robinson, I always thought it was against Melbourne he had his papers stamped.

Brisbane can score quickly when they get a run on, they have a potent forward line, but rely on confidence. Start missing the gettable ones and they may be in trouble.

For the Tigers, it will be about scoring conversion efficiency after getting it in the 50.

When I've watched the Tiger's I get a feeling that some of there players aren't quite ready for AFL.

If Brisbane can absorb the pressure and hang in there when the Tiges are trying to force turnovers, they should win, unless the Tiges conterpunch well, after turnovers.

It's unlikely that Brisbane play a bad second half, which is what I've seen them do lately, due to it being a winner take all final. If Brissy get a good lead they will be hard to chase down.

Maybe against the Ashburton Towies. Scored an average of two goals a quarter against us. When Glenn Frey hits town and starts playing, they are in the Seaton Street kindy.

Completely agree. Won 2 brownlows! But since 2019 hasn’t been the same

Was one of favourite non demons players. Such a beast

Hipwood, Daniher, Cameron aren't too bad.

Brissy are known as a scoring team, not so much for their defense.

Taking it easy.

Um . . . sorry mrtwister. Just checking. You mean the club that plays poor drawing, weak sides, eight times a year on a pocket handkerchief shaped like a triangle, effectively gifting them 32 premiership points, is being hard done by? The current draw is virtually a handicapper event with Jeelong deemed to be on one leg with a blindfold on.

That's correct QD. I think if the AFL could change the rules they'd somehow create a draw on Saturday arvo and let both these sheltered teams go through.

Hahaha. Watching him and thinking exactly that.

What a wish mash of stats. Montagna just as bad.

FMD! Who writes this [censored].

Swans win, with a single point in a mash of unknown stat's taken over the last 6 weeks when they have played 2 teams inside the 8.

And he says it with a straight face somehow

I can walk to my local pub in about ten minutes, but coming home it can take up to half an hour.

The difference is staggering.

Wonderful use of the word 'staggering'.

that's my favourite bit too

He can do wonders, the Melk. With his form returning, he may well do some stuff to our opponents. In many ways, I see him as a mini-Franklin, surprisingly potent, at times.

The *North Melb cheer squad will be there for their girls tomorrow and then they’re gonna stay on after the AFLW game to barrack for our boys! 🥳

*North will have a banner for their girls to run through tomorrow, which is awesome since it’s not something every club does. Only one club makes a banner for their AFLW team every single week and can you guess which club that is? Yep… Geelong! JK. (They don’t even make a banner for their men’s side apart from milestones.)

Yeah, it’s us. Every match, AFL & AFLW. Yet another reason to love our Club. Like you needed another one, amirite?! ❤️💙

That shook the G that night and another classic example of what Melksham was capable of. Man he has some crucial moments in 2018 that helped us.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
