All the more reason why we need to fill the G and be very loud from the very start. We need to take advantage of every advantage we have.

Agreed. Need to make the G sound like the 2018 finals series again and let Sydney feel the raucous and intimidation that we copped in the Perth 2018 prelim.

We most certainly won't get this luxury if/when we play Collingwood in a prelim or a GF.

The last quarter of the round 12 game V's Sydney felt like a Dees away game, particularly in the AFL members. Even when we got on top at stages throughout the night, I thought our crowd was a bit lackluster.

Yep, that night was a joke. I cracked it at so many friends that night that favoured Kayo.

Everyone just get on board,

Anyone think the same as what I do in regard to Marcus Adams. I think that he was concussed alright but it wasn't that incident. It was actually the incident from the week before against Cats I think and he was cleared to play.Pretty poor if that is what happened in my book..

Sounds like Sydney are backing in their 10-2-1 record against us at the MCG since 2002 and then get their prelim at home.

Last three years:

2022: Swans won by 12
2021: Demons won by 9
2020: Didn't play them at the MCG (Swans won 67-46 at the SCG)

I'm donating plasma currently, 2 fricken Collingwood fans in this donor centre 😠

They're probably there to nick the plasma tv's.

The swans will be a very hard match. I would rather we were playing the other 2 top 4s.

How so dl4e? Hibba takes Papley, Heeney and Florent. The rest you raffle.

And as a reward for finishing first, Geelong get to play away to the fourth placed Collingwood.

Um . . . sorry mrtwister. Just checking. You mean the club that plays poor drawing, weak sides, eight times a year on a pocket handkerchief shaped like a triangle, effectively gifting them 32 premiership points, is being hard done by? The current draw is virtually a handicapper event with Jeelong deemed to be on one leg with a blindfold on.

Poor bloke. The one thing you want is to have a crack but to be continually let down by your body is just unfair. The end is near I suspect.

Freo’s last 6

Lost to swans by 17 at home.
Draw against the tigers at G.
Bent Over by Melbourne at home.
Beat the dogs by 17 at Marvel.
Beat the Eagles big deal.
Struggled to beat the Giants who didn’t want to win.

By comparison the Dogs last 6 wasn’t much better, however they did beat us and they have a good recent finals record. This is an each way game for me.

Dwights tips for this weekend

RD 1

Tigers by 22 - Better side in better form, Brisbane will be shaken by what happened vs the Dees

Dees by 34 - we're a different team than they played last time, will rise for Finals and jump them and carry the lead

Pies by 14 - Cats are going to get jumped, mental scars will show and the Pies will win a close one

Dogs by 2 - Love the dockers contested style, but i am much more confident in the Dogs ability to kick a winning score than the dockers, even in Perth

Lions and Dockers for me.

What I would like to see is Geelong get jumped in the first quarter again in a final. I heard today they are 1W 7L in Qualifying finals.

I don't.

The lions are a good team, who ran into a Demon juggernaut.

At home they will be too strong for the tigers.

For punters, the 2.18 for the lions to win is brilliant value.

They should be fired up after the suggestion they were faux tough guys however with Rayner and Adams out and Dusty back as well as Zorko being Zorko I think the Tigers will have their measure. Would love to see Brisbane boot them out though.

At least it wasn't a Tiger 😜

Was gonna say if they were playing the Dogs this would have been a real doozie.

Fagan is under incredible pressure to keep his role i'd say. if the Lions bomb week 1 i wouldn't be surprised if they make a change.

Selwood meets Viney, I am so looking forward to us playing Geelong. There is a reason why the cats have them as a sponsor, they need a large supply of tidy whiteys before a Demons game.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
