Papley available as Friday is 12 days...

Are you allowed to play on the final day of the 12 days?

Should clearly mean that the Bris/Rich v Mel/Syd semi final is the Friday night of week 2. Should also mean the Mel/Syd prelim is the Saturday of week 3.

This is the official rule:

And as a reward for finishing first, Geelong get to play away to the fourth placed Collingwood.

35 years ago was the last time we played the Swans in a final, some great childhood memories:

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer bunch of whiners.

Scott is crying about it as we speak.

I think the rule is 12 days from the day  the concussion occurred.

Edited by Redleg

The 12-day rule is actually an 11-day rule - you're allowed to play on the 12th day. You don't have to wait 12 days.

The 12th day after today is next Friday.

We were never playing thurs because papley wouldn’t have been available.  Just some cynicism, I’d rather Friday anyhow

So whoever loses on Friday night (Swans) gets 1 day less recovery than the winner of Thursday (Tigers)

That’s stuffed.

And even if they win, and Richmond win their next two, they'll play away again in the Prelim.

If he passes every element of the protocol and has no symptoms or set backs. Sydney have some good strong doctors and don’t strike me as the kind of club to risk serious concussion long term effects. There’s still a chance he misses.

Such good doctors that they got fined for breaching Covid protocols. Zero chance he doesn’t get up.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
