Missed out in 2021

Now set to play his first finals. Bit of the heart break story last year after playing every game and then doing an injury.

Bar any injury from here on I'm incredibly happy for Hunty!

Cannot wait to see Hunt playing finals footy for the Dees!

Deserves it. Never should’ve been dropped this year and proven to be an important part of our defensive unit. I’ve been vocal about him being in the team and so glad he got his chance and he’s taking his opportunity. We play better with him there to take smalls and provide rebound. Onya Hunty!

Plating like a completely different player since he's come back into the side.

Really providing good drive.

Fantastic stuff. I am sure he would be in the top half dozen players at the club in terms of longevity.

His skills have improved significantly. Gives us a really different look off half back. Loving it

Melbourne supporters at the G really make some noise when Hunt gets the ball and just runs. Can’t wait to hear it during finals there (hopefully)

What about that torp? almost nailed it

Outstanding tonight. Super sharp and clean. His run and carry is a game changer for us and adds another dimension to our attacking play.

Totally agree. I've been a fan for a long time and wouldn't have dropped him earlier this year, even though he made some critical  mistakes. I just love his run and dare, and he is as tough as any on our list. I have always thought he is made for finals footy and he gets his chance at last. .

Tell me about it, this guy was made for a finals game.

Rapt for Hunt if he plays finals, but Salem needs to replace a defender tonight.

He played well tonight and his drive in last few minutes won us games against Blues!

He is definitely in!

Hunt was great. Great op too

Never thought I'd see the day but we didn't miss Salem. River played a blinder too

Spot on and he was instrumental in the last quarter against Carlton.

However, Salem will be back. Will he replace Bowey or Hunt?

Goody knows what he’ll get from Bowey in a finals series.

Having said all that, I assume Bowey will be dropped for Salem.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
