Love these multi-calls.

I hope watching that over so many times in quick succession helps those moaning about BBB going up with one hand so often understand just how important it is to our team.  He stopped the oppisiiton marking it.  He stopped the oppisiiton punching it away to the pockets.  He brings it down to the place that the smalls are and the goal results.  It may not be pretty or classical but it is what needed.  If he is not in the position to mark it cleanly, his job is to stop the oppitision mark and keep the ball in the area.  Going up with one hand acheives that.

Would we like a few more marks and goals, sure but when he can't mark it's obvious he concentrates on bringing it to ground.

Isn't it nice to have a call where the commentary team aren't openly barracking against us?

Commentary nearly always leans towards the underdogs and teams on the rise.  We had our turn last year.  I'm hoping to not hear a another pro-Nelbourne call for many, many years.

…and did I see a Fritsch handpass out to Kossie

This just popped up on YouTube today!

I think the ABC version is my favourite.

Cheers to @The Mighty Demons for the edit!

How does this bloke find the room for these kicks?

This is from TikTok so I hope it doesn't break some of you boomers but the content should make you happy.

Those blokes seemed remarkably relaxed compared to me at the time.

I was hiding under the doona.

I loved the footage on AFL360 last night showing Goody pumping up the guys in the briefing room after the game

How shattered are these sad sacks that the Dees won?

Indiscriminate kick by Lever Daisy Thomas reckons.

Yeah, nah.

It was Melksham who got the ball out to Kossie. I thought that was possibly the key part of the play, as he could easily have tried to keep possession to ensure a ball up, but he kept his head and made a conscious effort to get the ball to Pickett instead.

Having reviewed the footage several times, I now believe she was beseeching the Carlton recruiters to "Get Fritsch!"

I thought she was suggesting the blues replace Voss as coach with Rutten.

Good call.

The other key was BB not allowing an intercept mark or clearing punch.

He worked so hard all match.

And took a clutch mark and kicked a clutch goals in the third

Fans can be hard markers.

a question:

the goal that was disallowed and ball returned to half fwd / wing for throw-in

was it because:

1. ben brown marked over the line?

2. ben brown played on from outside the line when he wasn't behind the mark?

That was bloody awesome!

Love how Kozzi gave it to his opponent rather than celebrate. No idea how he kicked straight after being ripped to the ground during the kick

radio calls so much better than tv

I think he marked it outside the line anyway but i think the actual free was because he played on outside the line which players do all the time.

Was that The Ox calling for 3AW?

@The heart beats true, @Demonstone, @Demons11, @Jaded No More, @binman: I'm afraid - and somewhat surprised at the mildness - that Where's Wendy might have been saying, 'That sucks!'

Headed for Memehood, I wouldn't be surprised...

That was right I front of me and it was so confusing.

Also, Melk kicked a ripping goal as a result that was disallowed. It would have given him another goal, and it was a crying shame because his game was incredible and he deserved 5 goals. I really think he won us that game.

Things that come to mind.

Hunts explosivenesses.

Kosi not flying for the mark and remaking front and centre.

BBB could of marked it.

Presence of mind from Melksham to hold it in until he saw Demon colours.

The one hand pick up from Kosi.

Sorry Mr. Bombay, but it's could HAVE not could OF.

You'll have to forgive me picking you up on this oft-repeated grammatical howler.

I suffer from CDO, you see.  It's like OCD but the letters are in alphabetical order as they should be.  :D

Take notes Dees small forwards.

  • GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

It's Game Day and the Demons are back on the road for their 3rd interstate game in 4 weeks as they face a fit and firing Crows at Adelaide Oval. With finals now out of our grasps what are you hoping from the Dees today?

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
