Carlton will be without Cripps, travelling back from interstate, 2 days less rest. Also missing Kennedy, Hewitt, Newman etc

if we don't hammer them we don't deserve finals, let alone top 4

You don't think the totally out of depth biases inept Christian won't find some way to get Criupps off?

Because they can't hold a lead...

Shamefully one could say exactly the same for Demons.

OMG - even if we were to lead Carlton by 8 goals at ¾ time next week they will have belief in (a) their ability to come back and (b) our proven inability to defend any sort of lead.

Somebody on here posted earlier "I hope the Dees are watching" Well I hope they are now because this is why you never take the foot off the pedal.

God how I hate Rhys Mathieson

Good test for us to play the 3rd and 4th quarters well.

Channel 7 news going with ‘Carlton’s captain facing a season ending suspension’.

The AFL have already decided. He’s gone.

The last quarter had NFL pre season game intensity.

Josh Kennedy’s all class. His last game of a 17-year career and he’s kicked six goals to 3/4 time. What a legend.

edit: eight goals now.

Looks really bad for Cripps. No intention of contesting the ball. Has to get minimum 2 weeks for that.   May would get 4 .

The 6/6/6 rule is finally starting to make a huge impact in games this year. Centre breaks are crucial in the current game.

The last 90 secs of 3rd q of gf last year was the proof

These footy results don't look too good.

We win our 2 games and Pies beat Swans, then we play Pies at G in a QF. ( Third time lucky? )

That will do me.

Cripps should get minimum two weeks. Wasn’t a marking contest, he chose to leap and then bump head high, and he didn’t extend his arm to try and spoil the ball.
Ah Chee was concussed and will miss two weeks now under concussion protocols.

Should be 3-4 weeks, but will get two. Anything less and it’s blatant corruption from the AFL trying to protect a star player from a team they want in finals.

No I’m not a conspiracy theorist. Head hit. Subbed off = gone

Could make the same joke about us unfortunately

I actually don’t mind this Adam Papalia guy commentating, Derm not so much.

Cripps has been looking at Maynard's playbook.

  • AFLW REPORT: Gold Coast

The forecast said wind. The ladder said mismatch. The scoreboard said obliteration. Melbourne didn’t just beat Gold Coast — they dismantled them: 13.15 (93) to 0.6 (6). An 87-point obliteration, the Suns held goalless, and the Demons delivering their second-highest winning margin and third-highest score in AFLW history.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #28 Will Verrall

It was a tough ask for him to break through as a 199cm ruckman in the shadow of an all-time great in that position who is also the club captain. He had some good days at Casey but was unable to progress and was delisted at the end of the season.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #29 Tom Campbell

The 33-year-old Campbell has yet to play AFL football for Melbourne, but his Casey form has been strong and he has been retained as a ready-made ruck depth option who is widely regarded as someone who is excellent for the culture of the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #30 Harry Sharp

The Demons acquired an interesting player in Sharp, who narrowly missed securing a spot in the Lions’ premiership team last year. The 22-year-old medium forward played in the opening round this season and ended up with 18 senior games, although he was substituted in or out in for ten of those matches. He demonstrated glimpses of form, but ultimately ended the year on the margins of the team.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #31 Bayley Fritsch

Worked his way back after a slow start and a further slump in form going into the midseason but became a solid contributor for the club in the latter half of 2025. Closing in on 300 goals for the club.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.
