Not if we have players like Dunstan that we just never play. We need more tgan 1 or 2 fwds as well. Bb and Tmac need to go so there's two. Ideally Petty plays back so that's 3.

With 4 years left on his contract, what is Brodie Grundys value if he decides to leave??? Having spent a fair chunk of the season in the VFL, it would not be a surprise if he wanted out.

Question is, realistically, what will we get for him? And who wants him? Bidding war among rival clubs???

Where it gets a bit more complicated is that given we have heaps of picks to play with, maybe we look to package up Grundy + pick(s) for Swans first rounder?

To be fair to Dunstan, he unfortunately has the knack of getting injured at the same time as our top mids and so hasn't really been viable.  Wonder if he'll try to come back after this ACL or if he / the club will decide to call it a day

Gawn needs to learn to play with him, if anything it should be Gawn who is the one spending more time forward as Friday night showed we needed someone to take a contested mark down there.

The alternative to Gawn forward is what?  T-Mac & Schache?  T-Mac & Turner?  Smith can take a grab but he is more like a 3rd tall (and he's not impacting)

And T-Mac is not in form.  Ordinarily he may not be in the team but he has to play as the cupboard is bare

You are saying we need forwards yet want the best looking one for ages Harry Petty to " ideally play on the backline." So much for your Concern about our greatest weakness our forward line.  
Glad you are not deciding our recruiting based on that judgement. Harry looked every Inch a 75/80 goal forward let's leave him there please.

Next Friday night I would try Turner on the forward line as he can mark hopefully kick as well. Change Smith to backline perhaps.

I do agree that we go after a ready made forward as well in the trade period. Perhaps Membrey or Fullarton or Koschitzke. Or Lord for a future Ist or 2nd rounder as part of a Brodie deal if he goes to Port.
