Regardless of who is better (Naughton by a long way), two of them is better than one.

I think Frittata has a better set shot, he looks a more accurate kick than Naughton.

Them both have different skill sets so you can't really compare them.

Amon is exactly what we need, Jordan is a really good role player on the wing, but i actually think we're missing his hands inside, and Amons speed and kicking combination is something we really lack.

All a bit hypothetical as he’ll probably land at the Hawks but I actually think we’d keep JJ in his current wing role and use Amon on ball, rotating forward and perhaps as the 3rd winger.

We need more kicking skills and run from the on ball brigade than we do from the wings.

Ie. the role Brayshaw has played the last two weeks but Amon actually has the ability to hit a target.

His kicking motion is more fluid, I would agree there. Naughton's can be fixed over time I reckon.

I'm pretty sure Brayshaw has been one of our better kicks this season. I mean maybe not for you dee spencer, but for some its pretty tough to hit a target with three people half a second away from tackling you.

Can someone give a summary of the Melksham part?

Basically saying he is playing well since coming in. Has done jobs as a defensive forward. Wants to get another deal and could look elsewhere. Melbourne waiting for end of season to decode.

Thanks. Are we mentioned as one of the suitors for Georgiades?

No. Doesn’t really mention specific suitors. More just says port want to lock him away and he appears to be happy in SA.

He’s one I think we should be looking at. We were keen at the draft I believe.

Demonland petition, obviously we're relying on breathtaking incompetence from the Kangaroos list management, but given they all quit i think we might be alright

I don’t think he plays the role we need. He seems more the 3rd tall type.

I can see clubs chasing Tomlinson and Bedford . Personally we have a lot of small forwards , one player will go. Tomlinson is finding it hard to break into the back six , ideally we should have tried him as a forward. BB and Weid are not up to it .

On the subject of Naughton will cost too much and he lacks consistency.

Naughton is 22!!!

Naughton is a star and would suit our system perfectly.

I hope it's more than a mere pipe dream.

Just quoting a section of the article...

Milkshake May get new deal

Jake Melksham, the Demon at the centre of a mid-year stoush with Steven May, is mounting a solid case for a fresh deal after adapting to a new forward role in the past month.

While Melbourne is likely to wait until the end of their 2022 campaign before deciding whether to recommit to the 30-year-old, Melksham’s role of locking down on opposition defenders in recent weeks has increased his chances of playing on in 2023.
In the absence of an injured Tom McDonald, Melksham has not only worked his way back into the Demons’ AFL side, he has also kicked 5.5 across his past four games.

Importantly, he has played a selfless role in trying to limit the impact of rebounding defenders including Collingwood’s Darcy Moore and Port Adelaide’s Aliir Aliir since his AFL return in Round 18.

It is understood Melksham, who is out of contract this year, is keen to stay with the Demons.

But he would consider his options at a third club if the club choses to go in a different direction.

Melksham was thrust into the limelight in June after it emerged he had scuffled with May at Entrecote restaurant, resulting in hand surgery that cost him time on the sidelines.

The Demons banned May for one-match and ordered community service work for May and Melksham – who is believed to have come to the support of teammates – after the incident.

Melksham missed out on last year’s premiership success, but is working hard to stay in the Demons’ team as they chase back-to-back flags next month.

Wouldn't be surprised if this one waits until after the trade period.

It's looking like we're going to be active this year and could be some player movement with the Jackson/Grundy and maybe Karl Amon.

Also says in the article Hibberd is yet to be offered a contract, Hunt expected to re-sign, and club has told Bedford he'll get lots more opportunity in the next few years (which is intriguing to me tbh).

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
