This is the Aints last chance, so you would hope for Ratts sake they show some fight.
but it’s hard to see where it comes from

Ratts will be looking for plenty of "scoreboard nourishment"   ... (FFS !!!)

FOR GOD'S SAKE AFL the last few days all media outlets have sprouted that "Mickey Mouse" stadium's tickets are fully sold out and watching just now there are so many seats empty. Smaller crowds - look at your ticketing system. PATHETIC.

Saints pressure around the ball really troubling Carlton.  Unfortunately, I don't think they can sustain it for 4 quarters. Their pace is also showing the Blues can be sluggish.

Hipwood gets off with a fine for intentionally shoving his opponent into the umpire. That intentional act was far worse than lots of intentional in play acts that cause injury due to poor luck and cop suspensions. Absolutely absurd he gets off with a fine. Should have been a suspension.

Just saw on Fox this incident has now been sent to the tribunal.

Under the Tribunal Guidelines, he could be charged with Carless Contact with an Umpire:

"A Player may also be charged with the offence of Careless Contact with an
Umpire by pushing or holding an opponent into an Umpire or their direct path.
A charge of Careless Contact with an Umpire will be subject to a fixed financial sanction.
"

I'm guessing that was the original line of thinking.

It is possible they are charging him with serious misconduct instead:

"Misconduct has a wide meaning and generally is any conduct which would be reasonably regarded as unacceptable or unsportsmanlike or where it had the effect or potential to prejudice the reputation of any person, club or the AFL or to bring the game of football into disrepute.

Acts of Serious Misconduct will be referred directly to the Tribunal."

However they don't actually need to specify the offence, and are allowed to amend the offence whenever they'd like, and also:

"In addition to the Direct Tribunal Offences referred to in section 3.2, the MRO or the Executive General Manager Football Operations may in their absolute discretion having regard to all the circumstances refer a notice of charge to the Tribunal for determination (see Regulation 16.12(i)(vi)(A)).

In such circumstances the Player will not have the option of an early plea however the Tribunal may favourably consider a Player’s guilty plea.

The MRO may refer a matter to the Tribunal under Regulation 16.12(i)(vi)(A) where, for example, it is not able to determine a matter based on the evidence before it. It is noted that the MRO has investigative powers for the purpose of ensuring so far as is possible and regardless of the apparent conclusiveness or otherwise of any video, that the MRO can still classify offences, as it sees fit.

The MRO may also refer a matter to the Tribunal if it considers it appropriate to do so based on the circumstances of the offence, the record of any Player involved (particularly for similar previous offences), any suspected mitigatingf actors or other unusual features of any report."

For those who are interested, here are the 2022 tribunal guidelines:

Ryder is all class. Great player still

As good or bad the Saints can be for any given game, they will struggle to win a final without Ryder. All the talk about King, Hill etc... but Ryder is their most important player by a long, long way.

Can't believe how entitled Blues supporters are boo and whinge about everything.

Umps have gone their way all year and being the media hype team has brought the horrendous arrogance of the 90s back. As bad as Essendon.

Still nothing on the MFC or the AFL website about Luke's absence or a replacement.

Where did the Mitch Brown news come from?    IF he is in surely Tommo would have to be the Medical sub at least.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
