Agreed. Brayshaw not in the votes 🤨

He was composed, got it plenty and filled many gaps to repel Lions attack. But at least you called it !!

my votes from M16 southern stand. Hard to get a real appreciation of what others on the tele might have seen better.

6: Jack Viney. That bone-crunching tackle could be heard from Row R. I swear the stadium shock.

5: Lever. Great to see him tacking those intercept marks again. Especially against the Brisbane forward line

4: Oliver. The machine keeps on giving. He is on track for a brownlow at this rate.

3: James Jordan. He is owning the defensive wing so well.

2: Brayshaw. Career best year. I like him at half back

1: Jackson. in the 3rd quarter was playing a perfect link up role on top F50.

Harmes gets a special mention for his lockdown on Neale and hurting him the other way.

Mmmnn, Trac 800 metres gained, Clarry 35 and two goal assists, Harmes two goals and seven tackles. All more worthy than Hibberd who benefitted from excellent team defence.

6. Viney (somebody resurrect the Jack Viney Made Me Cry thread, I need a gif of that tackle)

5. Lever (clunking his marks again, hooray!)

4. Oliver (just Clarry things, ordinary game by his standards)

3. Harmes (shut Neale down, kicked two himself)

2. JJ (owned his wing, and unlike many others, was good from minute 1)

1. ANB (the forward pressure was BACK baby!)

Apologies to Dogga, Gus and Trac

Probably dished out the best hit of his career too.

I’d say it was shaded by the time he cleaned up Shannon Hurn in our last game at Subiaco against West Coast in 2017

Viney - Actually think he has had other games as good as this

Stiff - Jordan ANB (even 1 goal he’d have had a vote) Fritsch Petracca and a vote is deserved by all the Hibbo types, who did there jobs perfectly.

6. Viney - showed the way in Gawn’s absence. A terrific Captain’s game.

5.; Lever = his best game for the year. Back to being the intercept specialist

4. Jackson - stood up in Gawn’s absence

3.  Petracca - his best game for awhile. Lots more energy.

2. Oliver - typical Ollie game always in the best!

1. Hibberd - was Charlie Cameron playing?

Gotta say I agree with Fagan and Goodwin and thought McInerny and Jackson shared honours.  That's a credit to jackson because Oscar is a very good AFL ruckman but it isn't vote worthy in my opinion.

6. Viney - clear BOG

5. Lever - his best game in 2022

4. Petracca - worked his way into the game to become a significant influence.  Just needs to hit the scoreboard.

3. Jordon - is having a really good patch at the moment.

2. Oliver - perhaps not as damaging as in some games but just works so hard

1. Brayshaw - continuing a fine season

Honourable mentions: Harmes, Hibberd

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
