Yep. Of course it happen straight after the Melbourne game.

In his new statement he apologises then goes on to let everyone know he has been diagnosed with ADHD as if that's a reason why he acts like a DH

Wait, I've read the suspension wrongly.

So he's still able to play it seems.

So de Goey doesn't miss a game and, provided he behaves himself, pays no penalty whatsoever for his behaviour. Does the AFL think his disgusting conduct towards women in the USA and Bali is less serious than a dust-up between two Melbourne teammates?

Massive Collingwood Copout!

I don't have a problem with consenting adults interacting. And if the woman said she had no problem or issues about the event its not my nor yours nor Old Dee or DD's business to be telling them how to behave.

I understand your point 'Cranky'...

Consenting adults should be left to there own devices within reason, so long as they effect no one else.

I think the issue was more that she consented after the event, said she didn't have a problem.

He was lucky otherwise he might have been a real spot of bother.

Still could be if she changes her mind.

Well just stand by, I reckon the AFL Might just intervene here now that this pusillanamous and weak non action has played out!

Seems the "do better " plan is working well.

But as a Representative of a “Public” Company De Goey has Trashed his Club, so he is a complete tool and it ain’t the first time.
If he had ONE FUNCTIONING BRAIN CELL, he would have kept a low profile and stayed home.
But now he has made himself unemployable in this industry

flipping burgers is a long way down

Sadly I think you'll find that in both AFL & Rugby some desperate Club will always offer talented players another chance no matter how corrosive they are.

Even Carey got another offer.

It is kind of funny how he absolutely needed to have a getaway to Bali during the bye when all accounts are he's pretty much on his last chance with the club.

Seems fair punishment when drug taking only gets two weeks.

No, but it wouldn't help. One of the main characteristics of ADHD is impulsiveness, and it can lead to poor decision-making, which I believe is the point he's making in his statement. "Late last year, I was diagnosed with ADHD and I am trying to become more aware of why I make mistakes that I do ..."

Seems as though everyone in AFL is bonkers.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
