GAMEDAY: Rd 03 vs Essendon

Featured Replies

Reminds me of last yearโ€™s Hawthorn draw. Essendon realise if they scrap and make it messy, we can struggle to get our rhythm. Then they get us on the turnover with quick, deep minimal handling entries. We need to dispose first option and force it forward from the contest. Less Hollywood over-handling, more composure and get it forward with minimal unnecessary handling. Keep missing set shots though and weโ€™re done. Expecting Tracc to dominate second half.ย

BBB straightens us up and gives us much better structure moving into the forward line.

play him regardless of the week all on his lonesome.ย

Weid despite marking it tonight lacks presence and I think no Ben brown is part of our efficiency problem forward

The problem is BBB always brings the ball to ground. Weed is letting the Essendon defenders mark too often.

ย

Once BBB and Lever are back Iโ€™d prefer to leave Weid in the side and let TMac see out his time at Cranbourne. Time to move onโ€ฆhe simply serves no purpose anymore when he canโ€™t hold a mark.

Do you mean Mcdonald? Mcdonald is getting destroyed. Weid doing what he can. He should have 2-3 goals but hasn't converted.

Fritsch and Mcdonald have let us down tonight. Kozzi too. Weeds is an easy target.

Weid doing much better than TMac

Both Kozzie and Spargo need to pull their finger out. Have not once spotted them at the drop of the ball when we've entered forward 50. Both giving us nothing.

Yep. Max is struggling, but putting him deep forward with these 2 crumbing the pack is a better strategy than the one we are employing atm.

ย

We have been our own worst enemy, we should be five goals in front and in full control but where not. If we lose the frustration levels will be maxed out. Hopefully we can find our composure make the most of our opportunities and have a good win.ย

Spargo's decision making - horrendous.

Itโ€™s Game Day and the Demons have made the long trip west to take on Fremantle tonight at Optus Stadium. Can Melbourne make it two from two to start the season, and what are you hoping to see from the Dees under the lights in Perth?

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?
