First time I've heard their song I think. Anything with 'we are the boys' in it goes well on Broadway.

Top four Saturday night blockbuster against the Suns coming up. Might just shade the Richmond v Giants grand final preview.

Surely Rioli will get weeks for that bump on Rowell.  Lined him up, late, no attempt to spoil the mark, leapt off the ground and hip to the head.

Didn’t even get a free for that poor Rowell.
He’s a bull.

Is it just me or have Gold Coast not improved their skills or decision making abilities under Dew?

Every game I watch of theirs (which to be fair isn’t regular), they seem to miss easy kicks and/or handball to players under pressure A LOT.

Two after a guilty plea, should be used to that. That was text book of what you are not supposed to do. WCE will get some sympathy though for being out of players. If they are serious it is four, ( I don’t think they are serious).

Nic Nat just can’t stay on when the game needs to be won, he sat on the pine at the worst time.

Rowell was just fantastically brave.

Yeah coz that’s what you want your team’s coach to focus on… the important things. 🙃

In fairness to Mitchell tthough isn't this no different to how Goodwin/Gawn preach about our players expressing ourselves on and off the field?

Fair point. I just don’t like Sam Mitchell. So, any chance to take a pottie… 😁

Just watched the Kayo Mini WCE v GC$.  Just emphasised the totally feral nature of the WCE "crowd" (a mere handful for season's opener at their home ground)  - booing absolutely every goal by GC$ however achieved.

They were just really grumpy about having to travel vast distances to attend the footy so late in the weekend...

100% agree.

But because Rowell walked away with seemingly no injury, the AFL's broken MRO system will deem it a fine or something.

I hope they abide by the 'potential for injury' part of the assessment which they made a song and dance about.  Not holding my breath.

Rioli won’t be suspended. The afl-controlled media are not mentioning it. In fact the AFL tweeted both players had their eye on the ball. Yeah right!

no injury as Rowell is tough as guts. Therefore no suspension. a smaller player would have concussion and broken ribs

Carlton, Geel, Sydney and Brisbane the impressive sides of round 1.

And it will be a question of whether they can back it up and keep it up but Collingwood looked a far better side too.

Fast aggressive footy with good scoring.

Apart from us I would think that's about right.

Let's see how they back it up.

Saints were rubbish so hard to assess Collingwood but they did look good.

That Rioli incident was similar to the Viney incident of a few years ago when he smashed into I believe Shannon Hurn of WC. Difference was he got to the ball ball first and had his eyes on it. Rioli was far too late. It was reckless.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May
