North are tough opponents, they must be respected but coming off our great win v the Lions and playing at our home fortress I reckon we'll get the job done

Would like to see Kate Hore find some form

With both teams on equal points, a win is very important for our finals prospects.  If we play like we did in the first half against Brisbane, there’s every chance we will lose.  If we can maintain our form the second half, we will win comfortably.  Tayla Harris might be the difference.  I’m backing the latter scenario.  Dees by 3 goals.

I'd reckon they'll play with an extra back to try and block out Harris' run at the ball. Hopefully they'll swing Bannon into our forward line again. She's really rising in confidence and looking really damaging.

Dare I say season defining?

Big opportunity with Adelaide v Freo and us against Norf.

Just need four quarters of our best footy. We'll  beat any team with that.

Yes, North will be a tough opponent today, certainly a premiership contender in 2022.  Their midfield group has 2 good rucks in Emma King and Rennie plus they genuine stars in Jazzy Garner and Ash Riddell with Emma Kearney down back who is playing great footy there intercepting and setting up plays.  Bruton, Gavalas, Ashmore, Mia King and Bresnehan are all having good years and Bannister who kicked 2 goals against us last time is finally playing every game and looking dangerous.

@BDA Meggs would like to see Kate Hore find some form too.  And some others could too.  Parry has had one serviceable game all season and Ex skipper Scott has barely imposed herself this year.  A pity we dropped Megan Fitzsimon cause she has clean skills and some footy smarts but she’ll be back.  Start strong this week please.  Gay and Sherrif returning strengthens our team.

Really looking forward to this game. We are evenly matched.  Should be a cracker!  Dees by 1 point.

Funnily enough, despite a million wins in a row, I don’t actually think we learnt to play Casey that well. Just a bit better than the opposition. There is an opportunity here.
I am in furious agreement with @Meggs and @BDA it would be a handy time for Hore to get back to her AA best. Zanker and Scott to play to their potential too please.
If we get an even contribution from the first bounce then we win. Oh and please let’s not concede a goal in the first two minutes like we normally do.

Interesting game. North are not heavy scorers so if our midfield can get an advantage we should win. Our backs usually do the job but then again I should not back the horse before it has run.

1 minute ago, whatwhat say what said:

has it been confirmed if erin phillips at the crows has done her knee, again?

A knee sprain apparently. Not playing against Freo now but won't be out for too long per reports

I hope the Crows soften up Freo for us. The AFL are doing their bit by scheduling the game under the midday Perth sun

Love to beat nth anytime in the mens or womens.

Hope Taylor carries on her form and I wonder if Daisy will be down back again for a period of the game.

Our Casey Demons VFLW team has made it three in a row with a 20 point victory over North Melbourne.

Casey Demons 2.2.14 3.3.21 6.5.41 6.8.44

North Melbourne 1.0.6  2.1.13 3.3.21 3.6.24

Goals M. Caris, M.Chaplin, M.Fitzsimon, S.Johnson, C. McCrossan, B.Tarrant

Now for the big one!

Any chance Hardiperson tagging Paxperson?

And if the AFL were serious about it being a 'community series', it should be played close to me at Batepersons Bay.

Casey  Fields has to be on par with whatever the Darwin ground is called and Cairns stadium as the worst venue for  watching a game of AFL / AFLW.

A fair start I guess with the breeze. You'd want to be up at least two goals up.

Just a shocking ground to play at most days.

I'd be surprised if more than two goals get scored right of screen all night.

Daisy is defence this quarter may be a good thing. Will help if Emma King doesn't get back on the field.

Geez Bannon is fast. Great play at the end of the quarter.

Umpiring is horrendous. #freekicknorf

Kate Hore needs to realise the pressure has gone way up this year and take first options. She consistently burns team mates

What’s the score?

Melbourne leading 3.1.19 to 1.4.10 at half-time.

Game being broadcast on afl.com.au.

Harris is a joy to watch and Hanks really stepped up the pressure in qu 2!

very good qu by the Dees

North have the rub of the green with umps and we’ve got the 2 vital 50’s resulting in goals.

I think we should use Zanker and Purcell in tandem on Garner and free Hanks up to see if we can get some clearance wins.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
