Brayshaws manager back from overseas this week and Melbourne are going to meet with him.

People are speculating brayshaw will leave because he wants to play midfield. I hope not

I was under the impression as quoted by poster's on this site that Brayshaws manager was the same as Jacksons who was supposedly in Melbourne within the last 10 days to talk about Jacksons contract, why wouldn't he do both at the same time.

Apparently we are giving Jackson until the end of the season

That is what a reporter said but I don't pay any attention to what those wankers say

No we're not.

Trengove was good, but it wasn't up to the standard and class of Brayshaw.

Trengroves first two year were fantastic for such a young player.

Has re-signed apparently. Manager flew to Melbourne to officially sign off. Rumours he will announce on Gus and gawny which is hilarious.

I’ve now seen multiple people I trust hearing this so very confident

I think Maxy mentioned that a few months back about having the exclusive.

To be announced in the lead in to the Freo game? That would be hilarious.

A more important signing for me than Jackson. Make it happen already!

Whenever Gus and Gawn get time to do it, usually Thursday or mid-late week.

To add to this, hearing it’s either 5 or 6 years

So I was right then.

Said he would sign for 5 years or so.

Big clap for Redleg.

Seriously some great news if true.

Engorged Onion is totally down for third person referencing. Love a bit of self love @Redleg😇

FWIW I think Jacko is clearly gone and Angus will stay for about a 5 year deal.

 You heard it here first.

Don't get much from anyone else these days.

Give him constant one year deals so he's always in a contract year or he'll go back to cruising

Brayshaw will get a bit too complacent if it's for 5 or 6 years

He'll be fine!

Absolute rubbish.

Like the complacency he showed in the 3rd qtr of last year's GF?

Given that we play Friday night, the podcast might be out on Wednesday.

Hes a must retain player and having an A grade year but the difference between his better seasons and worst ones is massive. And with him it seems to typically come down to effort, a 6 year deal would scare the [censored] out of me for a player like him

I've told you a million times not to exaggerate.

Great news!
Gawny said he had to announce it on the podcast.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
