Club members and Public release go on sale at Ticketek at 2.00pm tomorrow Tuesday 1st March.

Mcc and AFL members are on sale same day from 9.00am

There are limits on guest tcikets, obviously 1 ticket per member bar code.

The entire MCG will be fully ticketed. No Ticket, can't get in.  i.e no walk ups for this match as per MCC Ticketing info, even if not a sell out.

To clarify the last sentence:  that may be the case for MCC members but not for the general seating area.

Walk up tickets will be available for all games this year at all venues, if the game isn't sold out.

So @Deemented Are Go!you can get tickets at the gate 'like the good old days' but for big games you may find tickets are sold out beforehand.

It seems we will need to sign in with QR codes, not for contact tracing but to show proof of vaccination; see the bottom half of this article

why-qr-codes-are-still-needed-to-go-to-the-footy

Essentially:

“You still have to be vaccinated to go to the footy. Your QR code, you show your phone, and you demonstrate you’re vaccinated. It’s the same in restaurants, it’s the same in pubs, but it’s no longer the case in places like supermarkets or other retail settings because you don’t have to be vaccinated to go into them.”

...People without smartphones can show a paper copy".

So anyone who is not vaccinated will not get in.

So they're going to check everyones vaccination status as they enter, don't think so, would take hours

Heard a whisper of a well known performer that might be singing at the game.

Can't say who just yet. I'll hopefully get it confirmed closer to the game....

“A well known singer”.  We have had a few of those in the past. Does not fill me with confidence. Looking on the bright side, a few well known singers have met their maker over the last few years. Basically it means it could be anyone from 15 to 80 with or without talent.

They managed to get everyone to QR in last year, and they manage to check everyones bags and metal detect everyone. It will definitely cause a big slowdown at peak hour but given it's fully ticketed people can arrive earlier

Security staff don’t check the vaccination certificates properly. And you don’t need to QR to have that on your phone. Keep a copy in your Apple wallet..

And the metal detectors are not turned on, and never were. Keys, umbrellas all pass through without a beep. Doesn’t happen at prisons, airports or courts.

If you go to SCG , Adelaide and GC none of this is done at all. How lucky we are in Melbourne?

Didn't see the email about tickets and only realised cos of this thread . still managed to get one in my preferred area in the MCC.

Had to download the 2022 Footy MCC Guide to clarify a few things, how's the superstar on the front cover of this one

You’re only required to scan the QR code. You don’t need to show proof of double-vax. So yeah, it will take longer than it should, but no longer than it already is, and has been for 18 months or from whenever QR codes were introduced.

Does Victoria have its own QR code sign I'm app and can you link it to Medicare for the Vax proof. I assume sign in and proof is still required for bars and restaurants and the QLD app won't suffice down there. Wow, haven't left the state for so long now!!

Service Victoria is the app you'll need.

Umm you might want to check that, pretty sure vaccination is an ongoing requirement for events. The staff should absolutely be looking for a green tick that indicates either vaccinated or valid medical exemption.

I’m just citing the Vic. Health Minister.
The way I see it, if we have to show our digital vax certificate (the green tick) then for what purpose would scanning the QR code be? It’s no longer for contact tracing.

4 tickets under cover, level 1, right on the wing. AFL Members.

All surrounding seats bar a few were unavailable. All Open seats were unavailable. Got lucky I guess but seems to be filling quickly

why do I have to pay for a seat in the AFL reserve if they are not allowing walk ups.

$9.90 per ticket plus a service fee of $3.25

Moreover they appear to be releasing tickets  en bloc the old way thus forcing everyone together.

The AFL Reserve will be about 60% full on the night

Scanning the QR code these days is only useful as a way of authenticating that the subsequent green tick you’re displaying is legit. The app shows the tick and lists the location. It’s going through that process that authenticates you’re showing something legit.

They may well let you just show the green tick on your phone without QR coding if they are feeling lax. But one way or another I’m guessing they’ll be trained to see green ticks and be fairly stringent early in the season.

It's always been like that for ticketed events.

Expected crowds of I think 60k are ticketed.

I'm updating my membership as we speak, are there any decent seats left for R1? or are they all gone? I'm an interstate member coming down for round 1 with the old man.

Does anyone know where you can find your barcode? At the bottom of the article posted by the club it said if you wanted to upgrade your seat enter your membership barcode on ticketek. I tried using the one they sent me for last year but it didn’t work and I haven’t seen a new one sent to me yet for this year…

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
