Wow

Reckon Turner has put in size and weight to his frame pre season  which is great news.

Also how much has RIV developed in size and bulk in 2 seasons ? A big lad developing before our eyes !!

A big tick to our development programs of the last few years !

PS bet Bowser  has put on weight and size just can't see it yet!!

Disco Turner looks like he could play key position.

It looks like the group has come back in extra good shape and Hibberd has fined down a little from last year.

I bumped into Daniel Turner at our local gym during the off season and had a good chat to him about his stint so far in the AFL system and the September experience.

I was also blown away by how incredibly fit he was. He'd already lost all his puppy fat and looked as lean as I had seen. He said he got a reality check with just how professional you have to be off field including your diet. Stark different compared to his 'tradie diet' as an apprentice plumber prior to being drafted.

He was doing his running program up here with Charlie Spargo who is an absolute pro when it comes to off field training standards.

His older brother has recently signed at our footy club. Looking forward to getting some good updates off him.

I hope he gets a game next year.

Recruit him to Dland ala Drunkn.

Hibbo was his fittest since he joined us in 2017 last year and carried no extra weight at all and very good season by the end of year when the cards fell for him and not Hunty.
Will still be handy this season to mind Martin snd Johanissen!!

Went back and had another look at toddy's Training photos.
What I should have said was he ( Daniel Turner) looks more muscly and fitter and as indicated by DD lost his puppy fat.But overall he looks a bigger unit ready for some serious footy.
Love  the story how he has done extra work running etc. with Spargs. That's the great thing about our Club there is always a mate to help you go the extra mile.

also Joel  Smith looks by far the fittest he has been ever. The test will come when the real body work and match practice to see if his body can survive and give him a belated chance for a career in the defence in 2022. There are no vacancies now but it's amazing how they can in a full season esp. with Covid capers going on! He deserves a change of luck and this  Year is his last chance.

Another  who looks much fitter is Rosman with a full first preseason under his body. May be the key to his form also with this base giving him confidence. Might also be the fact that one Blake Howes  will be fighting like hell to challenge for a senior spot if one arises at any stage in our centreline.

Wonder how much weights work JVR Howes Taj Juddy AMW are doing at this stage. If much at all.

These players are really along with Dunstan starting their career but so much excitement as we look for more  gems from the JT factory.

Bring on a full Casey season so we can give these future players a decent chance of adjusting to an AFL Club already on its way to potentially its greatest modern period of sustained success.

Might just be one photo but seems to have long arms and big buckets for hands. Handy attributes for a tall back

Live track report, few of the boys are enjoying a drink or two at a watering hole down by the mornington peninsula ... dynamic ruck duo where happy to take a pic or two with an appreciative long term dees member ... guns

There was very little known of Turner when he was drafted late in last year’s mid-season draft. One unconfirmed report said that he started last year at 191cm but was closer to 194cm when selected in June.

@dazzledavey36- could you please follow up his height and the all-important nickname “Disco”? Do they have discos in your neck of the woods?

I have a technical question. When I open the gallery in my Chrome browser, the tops and bottoms of the photos are "chopped off" so I basically see a lot of headless players. Any suggestions as to how to fix this gratefully received. (Note: Any answers need to be understood by someone with the technical knowledge equivalent of someone under ten years old...or over 60).

Also, that's a nasty swollen joint on Joel Smith's left hand ring finger. I wonder whether that's permanent damage or just some temporary swelling?

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
