Who is “panicking”? The whole point of succession planning is getting them in early to grow & develop without pressure to come into the side & perform straight away. We shouldn’t ever be drafted for what the player will be next year, rather what they will be to us in 3-5 years.

I’m talking about a key role where we will need to replace the incumbent, not a mature body gap-filler for a year or 2.

He's the one I want with our 2nd pick and have voiced this before. 

His ability to go into the ruck using his leap is appealing I would think in terms of Goody liking players with versatility. 

He's a lead up CHF who is a one touch grab and his work rate is what stands out the most. Seriously hoping he's still there and we don't hesitate calling his name out.

There are a lot of posters on here constantly bringing up the ages of guys like May, Gawn and McDonald.

Hawkins just won a flag at 34 so I'm confident all of those will play at least another 3-4 seasons.

I’m confident Gawn and May will, but have concerns on TMac and BBrown as they’ve both struggled with injury. Foot and knee injuries being carried the wrong side of 30 mean they likely wont have long careers. I doubt either will play more than 1-2 season from here.

I may not have looked hard enough, but any size, weight etc on Phoenix??

The more I think about it, the less confident I am of us having a player I want available at our first pick. I’d be wholly supportive of us going to a team like Essendon & offering them 13 & our F1 for their F1 & F2/F3. I think we’re better off focusing on loading up next year, unless a gun falls into our lap.

I think our key needs are a key backman, half back, midfielder, key forward, small forward.

The players I'm looking at are Ellison, Emile-Brennan, Phillipou, Keeler and George. Are we a chance to get them all?

The thing that I love about this Draft is that we are no longer looking for Messiahs, we now have most bases covered apart from a tall forward and a tough back-up Ruck / Forward. At pick 13 do we roll the dice and top up our midfield group or go tall as it takes longer to develop a tall forward option? At 37 same again best available or best Tall option.  We currently have 2 first rounders and 2 second rounders in 2023 to bring in some quality talent to upgrade our list, But we can be very selective and perhaps a bit left field to fill the gaps.

We have the luxury of having a number of elite players:- Oliver, Petracca, Brayshaw, May, JV, Gawn, Grundy, Langdon and Kozzie, supported by Lever, Petty, Salem, Rivers, Bowey, Hibberd, Hunter, Harmes, Sparrow, JJ, ANB, Spargo, JVR, TMac, BBB, Melksham, some of who may also become elite, Plus all the potential at Casey. 
MFC are in the Box seat and will be for many years if we continue to get our recruiting right.!!

Granting Luke Jackson’s trade request helped the Dees move into the top-15 and thanks to their premiership window being wide open, there’s no pressure with this selection. The core of their midfield are tied to long-term deals, meaning Melbourne could look towards the best possible prospect on the board, while also possibly making life hard for their peers by placing bids on the likes of Jaspa Fletcher and/or Alwyn Davey Jr. A few names to monitor include, Ollie Hollands, Cam Mackenzie and Elijah Hewitt, but to be honest, the Demons can’t really lose when it comes to making two picks in this year’s draft.

Again, would be happy with any of the above picks.

Tbh I'm not that familiar with the players after the top 30 due to just reading phantom drafts.

I just saw someone mentioned we were looking at George with our first pick, but not sure how true that is.

I'd say if he is available at our 2nd pick, we would take him.

Agree. If Brayden George was available at pick 37, I’m sure JT would have him in serious consideration.  He’s a lottery pick given his injuries this year.

Brayden George won’t get past the 20’s let alone the rookie draft. Phillipou will barely get past Essendons first pick let alone our first pick. Keeler is a chance. Jefferson will be the likely for our pick 13. Emile-Brennan will be on the list as a rookie if available.

I don't think Luke Molan is an example of anything other than a draftee who had a dreadful run with serious injury and was never able to show his true worth.
