Do what @WalkingCivilWar did or is going to do and stick someone else over the top.

And that’s exactly what I’ve done, Azz!
This is from last year’s calendar…

Have we sold high on the ruck equivalent of Sam Weideman?

I hoping like #*&$ we have. 2 first rounders and a second looks like overs atm.

Uh oh..It's started.

"Jackson sucks, Fyfe is too old, we don't have a forward line, Treacy can't play football and Ethan Hughes is on an AFL list"

• "Melbourne must be celebrating today, genuine shot at a top 10 pick all of a sudden"

• "Jackson can't mark to save his life."

• "Hope Melbourne enjoy our 1st rounder"

• "0 marks to Jackson is a bad stat line by itself, but he was out bodied and out read every time the ball went near him in a marking contest. And he added very little more at ground level."

• "I don't remember being terrified and lacking confidence being in his draft profile."

• "Bullied at clearances despite HO advantage, we looked outsized in there without Mundy. Jackson looked out matched as well."

• "I thought Jackson overall was poor. And yet he started so brightly with that neat handball to Freddy for our first goal. But it was summarized by his lazy boneheaded kick around the body shot for goal that missed the lot. And that basically characterized the afternoon.....sigh!"

B. Grundy d L. Jackson 79-50

ROUND 1 FANTASY LADDER

B GRUNDY 1-0

L JACKSON 0-1

I'm not vindictive and immature enough to post this in here every week - that would be irritating for all involved. I will do it in my head every week over on my fantasy page however.

feel free to carry on

Freo fans already going feral on Jackson.

Perth is a two team fish bowl. You get lost in the crowd in Melbourne with 9 teams.

All pressure is on him.

Go surfing Jacko.

Apropos of nothing, if that was the 60s it would be Barry Grundy v Larry Jackson. But who gives a Barry Grundy? Collingwood.

The problem for Dogga is that with us he could play on potential for another 2 years and do some nice things occasionally. Freo feel like they paid a lot for him now, so they want results now.

I still think he’s gunna be a gun, but they won’t get consistent value until 2025.

Spot on.. big dollars mean an instant return. Kosi will be an instant return if he leaves, but won’t get Dogga dollars.

Bulldogs invest heavily in a forward/reluctant ruckman when they really needed a genuine ruck backup for English who can drift forward.

Freo invest extremely heavily in a ruckman with very little forward craft and runs on the board based purely on potential when they desperately need a genuine tall forward or another key defender.

So happy with the MFC list managers right now.

I didn't make this. I don't condone it. The kid is a premiership player afterall and I will be forever grateful yadda yadda yadda. Having said that I did get a chuckle when I saw this on social media this morning. There may have been some coffee spat.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
