Brayden Sier are two young mids with upside, not convinced by either of them but might've been worth exploring.

Sier was electric in the first half of the 2018 Grand Final, finished the game with 21 disposals and seven clearances. Curious as to why he didn't develop further?

Sounds like he’s hungry to prove himself and fits into our program. Mature and experienced addition to our strong midfield group.  Maybe we can show faith in him by giving him the No.2 jumper for 2022.

Reminds me of Stephen Powell the way he moves.  Might be the left side bias but I reckon he's got a bit of Powell about him.  If he turns out as good as that I'll be pretty happy.

Exactly what I thought.  Then, maybe I was deeluded.  A great get in my view.

Those younger guys are only just starting and have a much higher ceiling of potential worth.

Bluddoath! Not too sure just how high that ceiling is going to be - and it applies to other 'newbies', youth and 'just out of the side' players, as well. Just the same, welcome Dunnie - tan. He will provide further competitiveness, skill and team merits to our listings of available players.

Hell, next year is going to be exciting!

I’ve been watching some of the replays of matches on the Fox Footy Channel including the mini matches. So far, Dunstan’s kicking hasn’t been as problematic as I anticipated. In fact one of his kicks to Max King was a great pass. There were lots of other examples. It wouldn’t surprise if it gets even better when he’s done a preseason with the team.

His kicking is rather good, I feel; he was used at the Saints to get the ball and then get it out; at the Dees, I'd expect his support structures are going to be in the elite class (as proven through the finals) so he may just have the opportunity to focus on delivery up the ground, more fully. He certainly gets the possessions, he can handball, he is tough as a brit schtykhouse and seems to have very good disposal upfield, once clear.

As mentioned by several DL observers, he is a spitting image of Stephen Powell - but tougher - and that is by no means a poor appraisal. Quick, someone with the tech savvy, get him a copy of Powell's highlights reel to consider.

I'd reckon Richo, his old coaching mentor at the Saints, advised the MFC on this bloke and his adaptability, his toughness, his ability to 'get the ball' and his highly suitable profile for the Dees. To my mind, he is a far better pick-up than an acne-stricken youth yet to play big-time footy.

At who's expense?

I'd think the club would play the GF team in front of the members, barring injuries of course.

I would answer that but it's too early to crank this site in to a frenzy at this stage........

Another astute pick up by the club. Although given the plethora of midfield talent we have may struggle to get games. Thats ok.

Multiple players, pressure on the incumbents is a real positive.

Don't doubt that but Picket made a statement of fact that Dunstan will play in the first game.

So baring injuries, I asked him at who's expense?

Anyone who is not fit or focussed or a number of other reasons. Maybe he won’t be but it’s great to have the pressure on the current squad of guns.

given we are injury free, which is unlikely he might struggle but everyone needs to be in top form. I can easily see him in round one.

Why? There have been plenty of successful father-son combinations across the competition where the son has not worn his father's jumper number - such as the two Gary Abletts, Tim and Jobe Watson and Ken and Dustin Fletcher, just to name a few. (I actually can't think of a combination where the father and son wore the same number.) I suspect it's hard enough to follow in a successful father's footsteps at the same club without being burdened with the same number.

#1 at Carlton. Three generations

But I agree. Most F/S would not care

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
