This is a momentous win . First time in 57 years . These 23 players will be known in years to come as the team that broke the drought.  In 1990 pies supporters expected a dynasty . 20 years between drinks   . Consider it limited edition Art work :)

Yep, Simon Goodwin and his 23 instantly became immortals the moment the final siren sounded. The greatest MFC team of the last 57 years.

If it was me @Mr Steve (and if I had the money), I’d go for the team signed guernsey over individual memorabilia every day of the week. It took a team to become premiers.

Go for it, having 1 player signed jumper for $1k is nice, but for only another $1k you can have the whole team (an extra 22 players and coach) sign. Consider it great value. And when else are you going to be able to get all premiership players and coach to sign in one place.

I have the jumper hanging proudly at home, beautifully made piece and the best bit of memorabilia from the premiership. Well worth it. You will not regret it

Ok, sorry.

if you’d like to PM me I’ll forward details

Got my premiership gurnsey on Friday. I must have ordered it wrong as it’s too big. Going to give it to my dad and reorder again

After some hesitation, I bit the bullet and ordered one of these the other day.

I was really wanting one with all the players celebrating, but the best version of that one was sold out and I couldn't bring myself to purchase the version with Perth Stadium in the background, because (And absolutely nothing against our Perth based supporters etc) part of me still resents the game being played there and so many of us not being able to make it.

Perhaps if/when we win one at the mighty G, I'll get one with it all over the background.  In the meantime, the thought of the above one arriving sends me to a happy place every time I think about it as it captures some truly beautiful moments of that one day in September that we've now finally been a part of in my lifetime!  GO THE MIGHTY DEMONS!!

Hiw could any one be critical if a photo like that! It's absolute Demon Red and Blue Royalty!!

who knows in 5 years time how many flags are totalled up and how these 3 rank in our very best legends and champions in our 129 years.

Suspect a whole new Team of 130 years will bring a new look to the greatest of all Demons from Team  of  the Century in 5 years.

Lets hope so!!  A lot to get that result though as 1954-64 was unbelievably good!!

Good move and congrats. Make sure to check the packaging as there should be a bonus poster inside that I almost chucked out accidently.

I had my own piece of memorabilia painted by an artist we know and wanted to know what you guys thought? See if you notice the issue that is being fixed?dees.thumb.jpg.50de20523adb2a48d5aae63e1ef43e9b.jpg

the gap between 1964 and 2021 is too small? 😄

1931 should read 1939.  It's a fine piece of work, jarjos.

I went into Chadstone over the weekend and took t he time to drop by the New Balance shop. Not one item of MFC clothing. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

How pathetic is that!? I’ve been saying it for years, but New Balance really don’t promote the MFC at all. Other sponsors have apparel in-store. Even after a premiership, they haven’t bothered to update their stores.

The MFC should shop itself around. It’s marketable right now. Sadly, I think we signed a deal with NB to extend. When Richmond won their first flag in 30 odd years, Puma produced a shoe to commemorate

Got my mask, my brother sent Herald Sun poster so now it’s laminated and takes pride of place in my study and the Weg poster is now strategically positioned in my office so when I’m on Zoom / Teams it’s there.

This is quite an interesting response from the Demon Shop when I followed up on one of my orders….!

“I have just tried to look up your order and it wasn't showing up in our 'awaiting fulfilment section' that's why we couldn't locate your order or see any order under that order number. We have just found that it has been moved to the 'archived tab' we are not sure why and we did not move it there.
We have just contacted our e-commerce manager to help us move your order out of that section ad into awaiting fulfilment.  We do have you order and will make sure you receive your items shortly.Any enquiries please do not hesitate to contact us again. We will keep you updated on what our e-commerce manager says.”

I’ve received the other two orders I made through Demon Shop but enquired about the third one that I hadn’t yet received….glad I did!

if anyone else is still waiting for an order and haven’t chased it up yet, it might be worthwhile just in case it was moved to “archive”!?!

I chased up my order late last week, there has been a hold up with the beanies which now has been resolved.
My order has just been shipped, placed it on 2 Oct.

so those that ordered a beanie your items should be shipped this week.

Erm - I think only the Grand Final is on Blu-ray. Everything else is just DVD...

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Having convincingly defeated last year’s premier and decisively outplayed the runner-up with 8.2 in the final quarter, nothing epitomized the Melbourne Football Club’s performance more than its 1.12 final half, particularly the eight consecutive behinds in the last term, against a struggling St Kilda team in the midst of a dismal losing streak. Just when stability and consistency were anticipated within the Demon ranks, they delivered a quintessential performance marked by instability and ill-conceived decisions, with the most striking aspect being their inaccuracy in kicking for goal, which suggested a lack of preparation (instead of sleeping in their hotel in Alice, were they having a night on the turps) rather than a well-rested team. Let’s face it - this kicking disease that makes them look like raw amateurs is becoming a millstone around the team’s neck.

  • CASEY: Sydney

The Casey Demons were always expected to emerge victorious in their matchup against the lowly-ranked Sydney Swans at picturesque Tramway Oval, situated in the shadows of the SCG in Moore Park. They dominated the proceedings in the opening two and a half quarters of the game but had little to show for it. This was primarily due to their own sloppy errors in a low-standard game that produced a number of crowded mauls reminiscent of the rugby game popular in old Sydney Town. However, when the Swans tired, as teams often do when they turn games into ugly defensive contests, Casey lifted the standard of its own play and … it was off to the races. Not to nearby Randwick but to a different race with an objective of piling on goal after goal on the way to a mammoth victory. At the 25-minute mark of the third quarter, the Demons held a slender 14-point lead over the Swans, who are ahead on the ladder of only the previous week's opposition, the ailing Bullants. Forty minutes later, they had more than fully compensated for the sloppiness of their earlier play with a decisive 94-point victory, that culminated in a rousing finish which yielded thirteen unanswered goals. Kicks hit their targets, the ball found itself going through the middle and every player made a contribution.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?
