When Brown was at Gold Coast Suns he punched a young team mate. Broke his jaw.

Having Mal Brown as his father is a wonderful pedigree.

Clearly a top bloke.

Our very own Steven May 😡

I know I should wash out my mouth, but I'm pretty much 'over' watching replays of the match.

Had the same problem. Don’t worry, it only lasts for approx. 24 hours

I'm going through the games we've played this season, only the ones we won, and you can see the improvement as the year goes on. I can't see the point in watching the games we lost, why disappoint myself.

When I finish i'll watch the GF again, rinse and repeat.

I’m with you. I’m still looking for a vid of the season on you tube doesn’t include our losses

I don't even like watching our losing quaters.

I just read that ‘story’ about the supposed nightclub incident. Imagined that this was your job? ‘well I heard that someone said something over a balcony and then all hell broke loss (but nothing happened)’.

I’d be embarrassed if I was Campbell Brown. Surely you can do something else with your time. There’s a job shortage. Take advantage.

Tom Browne is kicking himself he didn't break the story

I have recently started reviewing the season for youtube and whilst the wins are obviously great, I'm actually kind of excited to rewatch the Adelaide loss and see Oliver's performance again. The pies game not so much but it's all about the journey to be Premiers. The improvement and challenges in each game are great and there are some lessons in the losses.

This story sounds like a plot from Home and Away. Complete trash.

This is the way males in high school engineer confrontation.

Distort or obfuscate a story, hope neither party tries to build bridges to the other, hope heresay can’t be distinguished from reality  and that the tension boils up  to the point where punches are thrown.

Puerile stuff from a puerile newspaper.

A friend of mine sent me this pic. It’s from a friend of hers and although I’ve never met him I know he’s got at least two awesome qualities: (1) he’s a rescue-dog person, and (2) he’s a Dees man.

This was taken during the GF ❤️💙

He may be a rescue dog person, but it doesn't look like he had rescued any Bulldogs at that stage.

Probably a hell of a lot more needing rescue now.

yeah, just like the 4th quarter........no fight left in the dogs

western-bulldogs-list-out-of-contract-players

Over half their GF team is OOC next year including some of their finest:

  • Zaine Cordy
  • Bailey Dale
  • Caleb Daniel
  • Josh Dunkley
  • Tim English
  • Mitch Hannan
  • Jason Johannisen
  • Jackson Macrae
  • Alex Keath
  • Stefan Martin
  • Josh Schache
  • Bailey Smith

Can they keep the best 6 or 7 happy... ?

Just as well they didn't win the premiership or they would have a bigger sal cap problem!!!

I’m worried about hanging onto Jackson and Kozzie in the long run. Other teams must have them in their sights

That third quarter is classic "Tale of Two Cities" material.

I think like most I find it far more satisfying than the last quarter

I agree..............but i'm not tired of the second half against the Cats in Rd 23. The last passage of play starting with the the ridiculous insufficient intent call against Brayshaw and finishing with the mark and after the siren goal from Maxy WILL NEVER GET OLD

I used to have Elle McPherson in my sights; fat lot of good it did me.

Most of our third quarters have been very good. The one thing that stood out early this season was us never giving up.

Reckon someone like Dale might get a silly club to throw some very good coin at him.

I'm not. In a post match interview a day or so later one of the older players relatively  (may have been salem but i can't recall exactly) noted the team discussions had turned to looking forward together to the 10 year reunion.

He said the weird thing was that jackson and pickett would still be playing then for the dees.

Their silver lining to a very dark cloud, not ours.😅

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
