My bf, a 60+ year member reckons Trac is the closest he's seen to Ronald Dale.
I think I agree. BTW we both saw RDB live.

Mr 9....bro wants to know if you're still in touch with Allen Huggins at all?

Morning Green Demon. Sean was a Glaswegian although he was scouted from County Kerry where he played Gaelic football. His nickname at the club was haggis.

Cheers, good points. I was keeping it simple. I don't hold him being a Kerryman against him.

Haven’t posted until now because I have, uncharacteristically, been lost for words. Not only am I thrilled by and proud of the win but just love the way they have gone about it. There were no rough house tactics, no trying to milk frees just pressure, focus and never say die determination. They played without ego and their love and care for each other is palpable. Well done to all involved for a commanding performance.

That's one of the things I liked about it. Both sides went hard at the ball, with no Michael Long or Dean Wallis thuggery.

Although if you look at both lists it's hard to find a player who would do that kind of thing.

Also I had a look at the Bulldogs supporter site. They are gutted but gracious.

A classy lot.

Oh, and apparently one guy has put in 8 grand over the past 2 years and is unhappy they couldn't provide him a flag. Now he knows how Joe Gutnick felt.

Like most of you lot and being at the 64 GF I've been waiting along time and last night was an amazing performance. Again like most was worried early in 3rd but then remembered I mentioned in game day thread that if we are a kick or two behind at half time we will run over them. How true!. Had plenty of beers before and during game. Told better half and son that I have a Robbie Flower port I bought from club many, many years waiting to open when we win another flag. Stayed up for replay and had about half the bottle. Bit rough today as the PORT certainly isn't as refined as Robbie was!.

Watching the replay, second quarter, from the point where I stopped watching it last night. That Petty smother of the English kick was something else!

All the other teams take their cues from the premiers on how to improve.

Recruiters from 17 clubs have been given their instructions: scour the land for lanky immature beanpoles who will throw up on Tom Scully's bed.

Jimmy Stynes has a great redemption story - an international athlete learning a new game that took him from Buckenara in the Prelim, to the Brownlow.

Max’s redemption story starts in a way that’s a bit more relatable to the average person.

Not as much as Gawn being slung to the ground by Daniel whilst over the boundary line, with Max's head hitting the astroturf.

That said, we should give Daniels a thank you card cos immediately after that play was the beginning of the end with Harmes kick to Fritta! 😄

Did Daniel stand over Max and give him a gobfull after that too? Felt like he did to me. And it felt like the moment from which we started to break them...

How was that not a mark to Steven May right before half time? 🤬

Probably gave him a gob full for staging.

I’m watching the replay. The last minute of the 3rd quarter is as close to absolute pandemonium as you’ll ever see on a football field. It was literally ridiculous. I’m pretty sure i’ll never see anything like that again.

I’m so glad I got to see us play like that in my lifetime.

This is such a good feeling.

I remember thinking that after the third quarter of the prelim. Then we went out and topped it two weeks later.

It's a miracle.

And Allen Jakovich's legend status grows with the interview he did with Garry Lyon on fox sports post game 😆.  A must watch!  Accidently drops an F-bomb and when asked by Garry Lyon how many he would have kicked on the night, he said "I would have kicked 9 tonight!"

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
