Was shaking my head in complete disbelief when I watched this last night.

Just a real nothing story.

Why does the team need to be out past 9pm anyways?

If that is surprising why are they not expessing surprise at the AFL placing the whole Demon and Bulldogs enoturages in separate rooms, with separate catering staff at the Brownlow.  Both groups will be away from other attendees.

Demons and Bulldogs are/ will be out of quarantine and are more likely to catch something in the community than at the Brownlow.

After spending the best part of the last month in quarantine in Vic, Qld, SA and WAx2 I doubt the players would be complaining about their new found freedom.  Especially knowing their family, friends and fans are locked up.

A cheap 'click bait' headline at mfc expense by Channel 9.

I long for the day the media doesn’t seek out the rubbish opinions of washed up coaches on complete non issues just to get a click

I fear that day will never come though

Well if there is a negative of having an extra week it will be these “click bait” stories because the media has to make themselves seem relevant about something

Was disappointed that Caro said we are banning our players from the media. Said on the same day Salem is on all the channels news and  AFL tonight. Harmes was on the Sunday footy show and Max, Tracc  and others have done plenty of media. Cheap shot I thought.

Then again no flag in 57 years and media want 24 hour access to the team. Yeah sure.

Caroline Wilson is an acclaimed journalist.

Completely believable when she’s light on for real news.

WJ I'm a fan of Caro and always have been. She's one of the very few journo's that gets more right then wrong.

But it really is a nothing story.

Sam McClure jumped in last night after the story broke out and said he was at training yesterday and stated he couldn't believe how happy the boys were joking around and being jovial.

Gary Pert was on SEN and pretty much confirmed there were no issues with it.

It's clickbait rubbish because there is nothing else to talk about in the week off.

Very little to do in Perth after 9pm of a weeknight anyway, especially up Joondalup way where their hotel is/I live. Media trying to create a story out of nothing. Best ignored

Caro wants us punching on outside kebab joints like Sydney Stackhat and Cassius Coleman-Jones.

I would be surprised if the bulldogs don't do the same thing when they come out of quarantine.

I bet that won't be reported as an 'extreme' curfew.'

Correct. Add Jackson ( an inexperienced media performer) to that list.
He was on 360 last night!

No not our curfew. The boys curfew. The biggest non-story.

If they let them come back at 11pm they'd be spinning a story about how irresponsible the club is. Fugazi.

I have no problem with the curfew. The job isn't finished. No distractions.

They are over there to do a job. All players are needed.
the can socialize and hit night clubs after September 25

Stay Focused on the job at hand

If Bont gets 38 and kicks 3, Macrae gets a PB of 50 and the umpires give the Dogs a +30 free kick differential then we can all blame the curfew for 50 years to come and we can put the Norm Smith curse to rest.

Eddie also dropped a bombshell news story that Melbourne won’t be coming back immediately after the GF, instead electing to celebrate the win ((hopefully ) and take holidays in a state that doesn’t have COVID or severe restrictions.

That news rattled me. I thought the club would be on the red eye after the GF and celebrate in VICTORIA…. via ZOOM.

Well what would they do here anyway i guess....the team would just go into lockdown as soon as they got back. If they win the flag they can do whatever they damn well want. Theyve been locked up more than anyone and deserve a break.

Eddie probably just going off whispers and stirring as usual..

They'll probably have an 8:30pm curfew which will be deemed sensible and our 9pm curfew will then be viewed as reckless and tempting fate.

Media would be salivating for a night club visit let alone an incident. You can't win damn if you do damned if you don't.

I better extend my stay then - thanks for the scoop Eddie (everywhere but WA).

If I was in Perth right now there is no way I would be rushing back either. As a 25 year member I won't be the slightest bit offended.

I don't need them in Melbourne only to appear on Zoom anyhow!

Just bring home the bacon!

Yep. I back our players. They made a pact last Summer to get the job done.
Any player who breaks that pact will forever be an outsider

They will stick fat

9pm is completely reasonable in terms of setting an expectation. The boys no doubt have plenty of rec time up their sleeves, being back at the hotel by 9 shouldn’t be onerous. They’re there to get a job done, maintaining standards and discipline is part of that.

Pert said it’s not even being strictly enforced anyway. What a beatup.

In the lead up to a grand final, club asks players loosely to not be out late at night acting like idiots when the rest of the country is locked inside. How is that a story? Hahaha

  • POSTGAME: Hawthorn

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
