Great minds SWYL !!!

I've been resisting the temptation to go out and buy a packet of darts all morning!!!

All this talk of darts has inspired me.  Off to the shop I go.

I thought it was odd not to replace Parfait with another like for like midfielder.

The question is, who comes out to replace Narkle. Is it a tall due to injury, or will they just make a change with the sub?

Extra big-bodied(sort of , but still tiny compared to Oliver)) midfielder maybe. 18 game career, and 1 game this year so far?????

How much can you drink after a covid jab

All of it. Except at even moderate levels I was off my trolley for two days, and then the fever and shivers hit. Prior to that I was floating somewhere between MDMA and weed and revelling in the free drugs, with only the occasional alcohol top-up. I now understand that my reaction was somewhat rare, but not unprecedented.

Damn. Double dosed AZ and none of that.

Might have to give Pfizer a go.

Am I the only one that's been sitting at my desk all day but have done absolutely nothing?

I've managed to Photoshop (using 'multiply' layer blending mode) a red V over my work profile shot - it's now 2.10pm. The institution will greatly benefit from this.

Some random on Twitter saying Henderson out , Higgins in .

Leave them short down back if true

Scott is a bit like 'the boy who cried, wolf'.  He has a late change for nearly every game so it surprises no-one when he pulls that trick.  It is a silly game he plays.

I still think there he will make a late change announced just before final teams are confirmed: about 6pm today.

@Demonland Andy if we win tonight can you please repost that ‘royal rumble’ meme you did in the 2018 finals series and update it for this year?

If adding Narkle in late to the emergencies is a tactic of Scott's its a strange one. If he was fit or even close to you would think he would already have been in there.

Unless they have more late outs you would think this means Narkle will be the medi sub.

Interesting...

Same here.

Fox have been playing previous contests between Melbourne and Geelong starting from a while back until now. I've been sucked in to watching them all.

My main take was a reminder just how much Selwood CAN step up in big games.

I find playing Lego with the kids quite calming. Maybe I should do that for a couple of hours.

Barrel of nerves here, win this and we will win next week, but while confident, not overly!

If it helps, over here in Adelaide, not one person at golf this morning wishes any form of goodwill or tolerance towards Geelong in this PF. All are scathing about the run that the Cats have received onfield across several years - but in particular, this year as a few capable teams (unexpected to most at the start of the season) have played far better football than Geelong and still lost by 'aided' margins.

I have not seen such team resentment for years except for one occasion when the Dees played The Filth  at the 'G, sitting within the Members stand.

I think even the 'honest' media have all abandoned the Cats in this match, as well.

Carna Dees! Punish the *XYZ##$!** and remember, wiping the bum is the same as cleaning up the Cats.

What's the use of naming emergencies if they can be replaced less than 24 hours after being named?

Geelong gave medi subbed a potential medi sub.

Simpson has concussion..strange tgey didn't know that at selection.

Do I need to pay royalties to use this in future?

A fine cool day today in Perth. Some light scattered showers expected in the evening with light winds. Should be mostly clear though.

Feel free to utilise the idea at will, no charge, of course. It is something that needs widespread exposure.

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
