Interesting..

That suggests he is playing, unless Scott is trying to screw with us.

Can confirm my work training session is as pleasant as watching Christ Scott press conference post a win.

What's the use of naming emergencies if they can be replaced less than 24 hours after being named?

You’d think so. I was surprised Z Guthrie was named ahead of him, so might be a swap or fingers crossed another injury we are unaware of

Great minds SWYL !!!

I've been resisting the temptation to go out and buy a packet of darts all morning!!!

Well they haven’t protected Oliver  to date, so why would they start now. They will be too busy dealing with the constant free kick appeals of Selwood and Hawkins.

Maybe that's why Geelong can't run out games. So many extra star jumps at every tackle and out of bounds?

Am I the only one that's been sitting at my desk all day but have done absolutely nothing?

Obviously got too close to Hawkins.  Apparently he cant help himself.

100% would be playing. Probably was always going to play and the screwing with us part is doing it now.

I thought it was odd not to replace Parfait with another like for like midfielder.

The question is, who comes out to replace Narkle. Is it a tall due to injury, or will they just make a change with the sub?

Strong chrysanthemum tea for me to ensure I stay chilled throughout the game or else the tension will be unbearable. I have a special bottle to crack open if we win the GF. A bottle of 1900 vintage Madeira wine. Made the year we won our first flag. Owned it for 4  decades and now worth about 3 grand. But what the heck, I cant think of a better time to drink it.

No you won't kryton.  We'll all be with you in spirit!

I am swamped with nerves. So much so, I can’t give a prediction.

To say we’re definitely going to lose is disingenuous and a defense mechanism to avoid being hurt. The fact that we have so many firing on so many lines, we are in good form and have a sense of genuine purpose and humility I have never seen in a Melbourne team makes it irrational to say we can’t win.

On the other hand, I know Geelong will not go down without a struggle. Fate, karma or whatever you call it dictates that we play them. It was inevitable. Losing to us 3 times in a year plus losing yet another prelim is a fate they will want to avoid like more than anything you know. They are aging but they still have class and match smarts.

My emotions are definitely on the line. Fingers crossed.

im not sure you can. i do think there is a fine involved but it is the typical Geelong tactics to try and fool our team.

I dont think Narkle can be anything more than a medi-sub without attracting more fines.

Super nervous and excited, what could be worse if its like the 3rd qtr of the rd 23, I can't pause walk away for a bit and then comeback. But me and the family are heading in at 3.30pm to get in early and enjoy the build up at the ground.  I'll see if there are any badges left to grab from our stand.

I’m feeling a strong mix of nerves and excitement for tonight. I don’t know what it is, but I just feel this is our time. It’s not just us who think it, it’s every other footy observer. Is it possible that we’re all wrong?

The Cats remind me of the old team on the ropes where one more knock out will kick them out of contention for good where we won’t see them again in our finals for a few more years.

Someone likened this game to the 2000 prelim and it’s resonated with me. A team full of momentum vs an ageing team now just approaching outside the window.

Let’s get it done Dees. Bring effort and intensity. Kick straight in front of goal and just hope the umps are kind to us.

How much can you drink after a covid jab

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
