The remote community of Imanpa about 200 km from Uluru fly the Demons flag on the Lasseter 10DE9251-4C09-46CB-AE55-7D54A2E02439.thumb.jpeg.8b2ae56af89369ddcbe4f7c2e0ee2704.jpeg highway

One of my new favorite lockdown activities is trying to spot Demon flags and other items on my daily 5km radius walk. I seem to live near quite a few Melbourne supporters. Our front yard has had the Melbourne flag up since post round 23!

I have 2x scarfs, flag and Guernsey on display in the front window for the Port supporters down the road to see in the morning on the way to work(Or if they work)😂.

That's it; time to put out the colours in my remote* Gippsland community!

(* That's the way it guiltily feels compared to how you all in big urban centres are doing it right now...)

p.s. Note Haymes paint tins. Been giving them a good go, too! Looking forward to 2 more weeks of 'All The Goals' - LOTS of them

I have a flag but more windows, hopefully if we win this week the club send us some printable options

I would be even more impressed if it read '...since 1923..'

My scarf has been in the front garden for 2 weeks since the QF.

Stolen in broad daylight this morning.

I live in Geelong.

My wife, who used to be a Filth supporter, took it upon herself to order this before they are all sold out. Just need to install a flag pole now. Anyway, I'm praying we can go all the way. 😍

Put my flags (and scarves) up yesterday. I also have my WEG Neita 300 game poster displayed in an upstairs window

My  neighbors (Canberra) think I'm a 'fruitcake', but I don't really care (and they are probably correct anyway!)

I’ve agreed to put up a flag in the window, but I’m so nervous about this week I kind of don’t want too many reminders! If we get the chocolates on Friday I’ll make the house full red and blue everywhere!

The lovely wife put up a little Dees flag in our window on Sunday. I'm waiting until Friday night to add to it if we can get up.

Same! I am soooo tempted to drag out my box of streamers and balloons etc. especially since it’s something to do during lockdown. Most of the stuff I bought in 2018, planning to adorn the outside of the house after the prelim. Sadly most of it is in unopened packages.
I still have some of the things I decorated my house with in 2000. They’re still in great condition since they weren’t out in the weather for long. 😞 As soon as twilight descended I dragged my sorry ar*se out to pull it all down. Where I live Essendon supporters easily outnumber all other supporters put together. Or they did back then. Now there’s a lot of Geelong, Richmond, Hawthorn and Footscray fans to be seen. Amazing what success does for a club’s supporter numbers.

Another reason to hate Geelong.

I'm still trying to work out how to artistically arrange my rather large collection of Demons scarves inside my front window.

If we get through this weekend it'll then be time to don the flashing red horns I got yonks ago and scare the local kids.

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit.
Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

For a brief period of time in the early afternoon of yesterday, the Casey Demons occupied top place on the Smithy’s VFL table. This was only made possible by virtue of the fact that the team was the only one in this crazy competition to have played twice and it’s 1½ wins gave it an unassailable lead on the other 20 teams, some of who had yet to play a game.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

In my all-time nightmare game, the team is so ill-disciplined that it concedes its first two goals with the courtesy of not one, but two, fifty metre penalties while opening its own scoring with four behinds in a row and losing a talented youngster with good decision-making skills and a lethal left foot kick, subbed off in the first quarter with what looks like a bad knee injury.
