Your favourite music to get you through to the Grand Final

Featured Replies

After slagging off some Chris Cornell fans last night 😘 @Superunknown et.al, I had come across some music this morning that got me energised for the game.

Now there is no direct link to winning or The Demons in the lyrics of this song, but just a song that I like.

Here it is.

Found That Soul

It reminds me of a game I used to play with mates drinking,  called 'YouTube Roulette' about 15 years ago - whereby you start with a song and artist - and then the next song must have a word from the previous title/artist.

ie: Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond

then Neil Diamond - Sweet Caroline

perhaps then you might go to U2's Sweetest Thing.

Anyway  I look forward to hearing some peoples eclectic tastes of whatever music they like between now and Friday.

One song I blasted pregame through the 2018 finals was Oasis - f*^%in in the bushes. Crank it up.

Oasis  .... As if 😄

I’d rather this thread be opened if we get through to the GF.

However, if the theme is general ‘fire up’ music, nothing beats Sirius.

And on a different tangent.
Watch ..... "America's Game: The 1981 San Francisco 49ers | Super Bowl XVI" on You-tube.
Reminds me of us.

Though I must say, this is also a pretty decent selection.

Whilst on the subject of music, this is how the yanks are dealing with COVID currently. This was our tune to run out to this year, how I’d love to see the G rock like this…

Is Kozzie Pickett our Ronnie Lott story? Maybe May actually.

Do it Fork ‘em!

He’s Nobody’s Moggy Now by Eric Bogle - along the lines of 101 uses for a dead cat.

Still can’t believe MF is gone.

For mine I think chill is the way to go. Calms one’s nerves. To this end I’ve been giving Jean-Michel Jarre a merciless hiding.
But then to get the heartbeat going again I’ll blast some Chemical Brothers. You’re welcome, neighbours. 😁

I watch these over and over, knowing that no matter how badly the Dees perform, they’ll never reach these depths…

How could it be anything else?

All fired up- Pat Benatar

This is our whole season’s theme for crying out loud

P.s. it was VFL’s theme for 1988. We made the grand final that year too

Great song.

Any Band-Maid song would cover it, otherwise it's gotta be

Highway to Hell

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Saturday Night’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

  • NON-MFC: Round 02

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.

  • POSTGAME: St. Kilda

Never in doubt!!! In Steven King’s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
