Giants are on the fringes of what you would call "in it". They'd have no fear of being able to reel back the margin though, as long as they throw caution to the wind in the 2nd half. Take a leaf from Melbourne's book - win the clearances and stoppages, and pummel the ball forward at breakneck speed.

GWS forwards not getting the same protection as the Cat’s forwards.

That’s because they’re not playing any forwards that I can see Demonland.

I never wish injuries on anyone but I wouldn't mind 4 concussions for both sides in one marking contest please and thankyou.

My favourite part of this game is Soundgarden in the ad breaks. Ch 7 or their OB/prod has a SG fan - they’ve run a few SG songs last few weeks including Outshined, Drown Me at least.

a huge loss. Last gig. 🥺

Sad when Brown is the most entertaining thing I’ve seen all evening.

Still holding out hope for GWS somehow miraculously getting across the line. Nothing else to do now that I’ve set aside my evening for this rubbish.

Coniglio has gone backwards as a footballer since he was given the captaincy.

Foot injury has ruined his career. He was an elite midfielder a few years ago. He broke his ankle and developed syndesmosis in his ankle/foot. Similar to Viney, he now has to manage ongoing foot problems, lost all pace and kicking penetration and is a shadow of the gun player he once was. He’s a c grader now. Sad to see.

Back to this match. Haven’t checked the tackle count, but I suspect it’s very low. This is the most bruise free final I can remember.

Was he ever that good?

People always raved about him but I ever saw it.

There was a patch a few years ago (I want to say it was the year before they made the Grand Final) where I legit thought he was the best player in the comp. Never seen anything like that from him since then.

I'm tossing up between netflix and the hope I'll see Hawkins reported if I stay.

Netflix probably a better choice - Hawkins could even “do a Toby” on Razor Ray and would get off.

You have options. We are stuck in lockdown, curfew has kicked in, and it’s pouring rain.

In 2018 he was great and he was my smokey for the Brownlow as he was kicking goals while playing in the guts.

No idea what's happened but he looks slow and unskilled now.

Edit - thanks Lord Travis for the update, completely forgot about his injury

Still saddens me he's gone.

I can't get any lower,  still I feel I'm sinking. Haunting lyrics now.

Based on what we've witnessed so far tonight, if the Dees come to play next Friday, it will be a soft passage into the GF (not ideal imo).

Yep his 2018 was brilliant. Averaged a touch over 28 disposals and kicked 24 goals during the season. Statistically identical to Petracca’s 2021 season for context.

I think you don’t quite realise how anti-social I am 😂 I don’t reckon I’ve been out on a Friday night for at least 5 years and have absolutely no intention of starting now. If I could give you my freedom, I would.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
