Our defenders having a nice rest 😁

Ttacc's IQ coming inside 50....very costly

Too slow to react there

Dees pressure on Cameron's around-the-body was perfect.

Max took the mark (tallest man on the ground), and two of our fastest manned the play-on. Cameron misses.

Could have claimed a prelim berth...shocking kicking but thats us I guess.

Credit for the domination.

I like 2nd quarter Cameron much more than 1st quarter Cameron.

If not for some atrocious goal kicking, that was great to watch. Well on top. Great footy to watch.

That was much better. We could have killed this game if we kicked straight. Game is still there to be won but we are doing very well. Brisbane will reset and come out firing.
We must come out strong after half time.

Fantastic quarter. A player who has really impressed me is ANB. His endurance running has been excellent and his kicking is improving out of sight. It isn't the first time he's performed in a final.

You know the game’s not over, right? 😝

Lions went out to hard in the beginning.  I expect them to regroup after half time. Not over yet.

5 goals up at half time.
Gotta be happy with that.

Still, this game would be over if we kicked straight that qr.
One sacrificial goat not enough for finals obviously.
2 next game.

Our half time score is 9.10.64

19.64

Just sayin.

With straight kicking it almost could’ve been. But I’ll definitely take the 30 points at 1/2 time

Should be 12.7 or 13.6 and game over

Maybe we are scared of leading by 44 points, after last week.

If Trac could kick this would be done. His kicking technique is nasty.

Just need that belief in front of goals, the tentative vibe is creeping through the whole team and it's been an issue all year.

Brilliant behind the ball and loving our contest work.

Just focus on winning this quarter and we've got it.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
