I love it. Love the fact that something I created will be imprinted permanently on someone for all eternity.

He's not living forever I suspect...

Back in 2000 I was prepared to get "Every Heart Beats True" with the old 90's-2000 emblem, on my left side of my chest.

Wife mentioned this time in my life to my oldest son and now I am getting pressure from him. "Come get a tatt with me!"

If I was I would still put in the line "Every Heart Beats True" but with the current monogram.

Some good father and son time together😉

Love that people are keen to get a tattoo (many for the first time), I do recommend anyone thinking about it thoroughly research a good artist before they go ahead. Haven’t seen anything too worrying in this thread, but the difference in ability between a good tattoo artist and a bad one is like Oliver vs. a lowest division country league reserves fill in. Have seen some real shockers on Facebook.

Correct but its also a bit of a dilemma

Most high end artists won’t do small pieces like Premiership tattoos and/or are booked out for months.

I was lucky that I have a good long term relationship with one of my artists (who lives close by) and he was able to do it out of his studio at home after hours.

But yes, by all means do your research and be prepared to wait/travel/pay for a quality product. My god I’ve seen some shocking Premiership tatts on Facebook.

While you make a fair point about the best artists, I don’t necessarily think that’s required for the smaller pieces. An average artist who can pull a straight line and knows how to shade/color is more than enough.

With Instagram these days it shouldn’t be that hard to have a look at any artists work before you commit. I’m sure some of these people getting the shockers would spend hours researching the best option for any other decision they need to make (the best mobile phone deal, best value TV etc) but for some reason are happy to walk into any random tattoo parlor and hope for the best!

Unfortunately I don’t live in Victoria anymore and wasn’t getting tattoos when I did. The one place I’ve heard recommended as having solid artists throughout is Chapel Tattoo. Quick look at their Instagram checks out, though I would always want to have a look at the specific artists work.

Beetle might be a better source of info/suggestions

My brother came over. Without prompting, he showed me proof. He has the tattoo right on his butt.  any imagine how much that hurt.

Out of respect I won’t post it here 😏

butt isn't too painful

Just had this done. I looked at the official design but the cup and words wasted space. By just going with the emblem I could make it bigger to show the logo better. Top tip from my artist was to do all the lines in black for crisp definition then colour in.

My daughter is a tattooist.  Ironically,  I am anti tattoo - don't have any,  but I do know she is a very talented artist and someone you would trust with your life. Works for a high profile tattoo parlour in Vic. If you are serious,  DM me and I'll pass on details.

Isn't that how all tattoos are done?

Nope, some use lighter lines so the6 are not so defined, some don’t use lines at all for more realistic pieces.

No. It’s not.

Well it use to be, I got my first tattoos 55 years ago when I was 16, and then a couple more at the age of 18 and that is how they were done then by the tattooists who at that time were amongst the best going around, Danny Robinson and his wife Bev who at that time was Australia's tattooed lady. They were based in Williamstown.

Can highly recommend Chapel Tattoo. Great people and give great advice and ideas.

Only thing I'd say though, while all the artists there are usually great, their styles are all very very different. I would have a look through their artists' instas and see what style you think suits your idea. Chat to them and email through your ideas and they'll point you in the right direction of who will suit.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
