Olivers kicking for goal is putrid

More kicks like that Fritsch and you might stay in.

Joel Smith putting up his hand. Oliver needs to learn to kick goals. Imagine that kick on GF day to get in front against the cats or Dogs? Shudder.

Worst kick for goal in the comp

Fritsch is a very lazy and soft footballer. Has skated by on his undeniable talent but he has zero intensity.

Kozzies form is a bit of a worry, last weeks incident aside, might need a weeks spell to refocus the mind and get rid of any niggles.

Anyone who thought that had no idea.

I wanted Brown in from day dot, and was a bit puzzled when he was dropped based on a mediocre performance on a wet deck with way too many talls (all 3 + Gawn and Jackson played that day vs Carlton).

Brown wasn’t fit. He needed more time

He looks ready now…

If Joel Smith leaks less than 3 goals, that’s a win. I hope he makes me eat my hat.

Just had a little nibble of my hat.

Picket , Fritsch, Petracca and Brayshaw 3 touches between them….ugh!

To be fair to Brayshaw, all of the game that quarter was played on the opposite wing.

Spargo is burning his tickets despite structurally being important for us.

Too worried about the wind messin up his hairstyle

Great pass to Clarry.

Also great positioning for his own goal

Not good spargs

So. They’re obviously trying to pick us apart with the short kicks and running hard through the middle. We know that’s what they’re doing, right?

Spargo

Magnificent.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.
