Honestly, that will never happen again in football history. All that happened was the Eagles got a free hit. Up until then we absolutely controlled the game.

I couldn’t be prouder of our club. We’ve had a horrible 9 days and responded with 2 wins. The boys should feel so good about what they’ve achieved. We kept at it, and just grinded. That’s what good teams do.

Luke Jackson: take the Rising Star

Good:

- Bowey (my goodness he’s already special)

- ANB in game 100

- Jackson Rising Star

- Brown being the dominant target and holding marks

- Melksham playing his role

- Team effort overall

Bad:

- Goal kicking (will cost us a final)

- Umpiring

- Players not being smart enough to know umpires are hot on them

- Lightning

- West Coast supporters

- Brian Taylor

Round 12 the last time we’ve scored more goals than behinds, it’s disgraceful from the club and I agree it will cost us something big if we don’t actually sort it out.

Thanks for the heart attack. Every minute of that break and what happened after was stressful to the max. Likelihood of me sleeping properly now: zero.

Hell yes though. Back on top and now can’t get knocked out of the 4. Very happy.

Yeah I’m far too adrenalised to contemplate sleep.

7 day qtine

Heat doing 15 mins. 10 to 2 free kicks.  We went to water

Red eye flight back to Melbourne

No recovery session

6 day break

I'll take the result but mark my words we'll pay for this

It’s hard to switch back on in those circumstances.
Meth Coke had nothing to lose.
we got there.

Nah I've got zero time for this attitude.

An unprecedented 30 minute break when we have the game entirely under control, in hostile territory, forcing West Coast to change their entire attitude, after a week in quarantine, off the back of a day last weekend on a plane.

This is a win to savour, not to complain about.

Definitely. If the game didn't stop we win by 40+ easily

For those who are a bit jaded by the last 15 minute output.

imagine you’re 6 goals up - 15 to go, you’ve cooled down - you’ve essentially sewn up top 4. And Burgess says, don’t go out and injure yourself, play it cool, play it safe…you’ve got another 5 matches to go for the season.

do you a) play it safe or b) ensure a greater likelihood of injury after cooling down and go really really hard?

Bloody great win Dees!

No it was not       2 minutes away from the worst defeat in living memory   bloody angry what they put us through the last 15 minutes .....west coast [censored] heads are not that good to be allowed to come back like that    I usually do not say anything about umpires but they were shocking   that one against May for contesting from the side   Royal commission needed as to why they are so bad at interstate venues against Vic sides    votes tonight  Umpires 3 brownlow votes.

I never watch TV games until I know the result, due to the stress.

Checked the score, we were miles in front and I thought here we go, nice  watch the last 15 minutes of live footy.

Won't be doing that again, Jesus Christ.

I like how we’re complaining about the umpires yet absolutely got away with the Petty incident aha

At least we won the clearances ...

EDIT:..(that was supposed to be a joke)

Massive game from ANB, in his 100th game that was an absolute gem.

I'd happily take that. The last 15 minutes were certainly hard to watch but I'm sure that if it wasn't for the infuriating lightning break we would've kept the game in control and won by 6-8 goals. That break completely messed with our focus.

ANB and Melksham had their best games of the season. Brown is coming along nicely. Petracca and Oliver, as always, worked really well together in the midfield.

The last 15 minutes aside, that was a very impressive win. We were all over them until three quarter time.

Loving the development of Petty this season. Lever and May are great mentors for him. Thomo might find it hard to reclaim his place next year!

That bit at the end where held it up and wasted about 15 seconds when the Eagles took the mark was fantastic. Play of the game, loved it.

Let's give 4 points back then?

I wasn’t worried about the “effort”, it was the ability to kill West Coast off through poor goal kicking.

We were than dangerous 30 points up which is exactly the kind of lead we tend to give up.

Agree we were in total control Natanui and Yeo were dead on their feet before their little half hour rest.

Winning last week and this week in really bizarre circumstances shows a lot of character

I reckon not being able to leave your house every second week for a week would be hell 🤷. Anyway, just leaving the stadium and off to the old whiskey bar.

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
