Knowledge and experience will always win over the guesswork of supporters.

Absolutely absurd to suggest that those in power and in position will always be right as opposed to those on the periphery that are experienced and  interested. Often those on the periphery have clearer thoughts, no ulterior motives, aren’t influenced by being too close, do have conflicts of interest etc etc etc.

Win this: we make top 4.
Lose: We miss.

Bottom line.

Sydney and Port will overtake us otherwise.

Looks like it now, although I reckon Sydney might well drop a game over the next two weeks. They've won a number in succession and been up for so long. It'd be incredible if they didn't slip up.

Dazzle if Mc Donald is out happy with weeds would you drop Viney for Jones?? HAVING said that Vineys second half was a litle better than his shocking first!

They won't drop Viney. Goody and the coaches love him too much.

The only changes that'll happen are the forced ones like McDonald or Salem if they don't pull up well.

Hibberd’s also shut down Dusty, put the brakes on Stringer, held Papley quiet, held Toby Greene to very few touches and not a huge impact.

He’s still our best shut down medium defender and until I see more I don’t trust Rivers or Hunt on dangerous forwards.

It’s up to Salem, May, Rivers and Hunt to handle the bulk of the distribution. And more Petty involvement ideally too.

Agree, and will be a required player come finals...

A lot of people here look pretty silly again this week.

The calls for Jackson to be dropped/rested were just a little premature.

Apart from his 4 goals it appears the idea coming up to finals is not to run Max into the ground.

Jackson took a bit more ruck time today and you can't lay that off to a bit time ruck like Weed or Tommy Mac as some suggested.

Win - Goody and selection, loss - Demonland experts...

...by the way can Goody coach this week?

Harmes is an enigma, no doubt. His grunt is important. Strength and run from contest to contest excellent, pressure good and can help us break even in an area that then allows Oliver, Trac and others to get going. But his inability to do the simple things well let alone when he overthinks the occasion is a massive cross against his game. If you give the ball back to good sides unlike GC today they will beat us. In finals you need to hold on to the ball and keep it going your way.

But against Yeo and a mature West Coast midfield he probably stays in but he must be put on notice to get his disposal right. You would hope Jordan and Sparrow have higher potential and can eventually keep him out of the side, but we will probably have him in this finals series, hopefully it will be a successful one.

I know Harmes, Sparrow and Viney all made some errors but Harmes time and time again burnt players in better position to try and solo it.

In AVB

Out: Harmes.

As did Viney, ignoring good options in favour of trying to bulldoze through tacklers. I reckon they were equally ordinary today, both had games they would rather forget.

There's no doubt Viney or Harmes won't be getting dropped but how you play so badly against the witches hat that were the Suns is quite hard to comprehend

it wouldn't be incredible at all. It's what most likely will happen. Sydney have Stkilda, North & Gold Coast. So thats a 95% chance they win all 3.

1. Dogs: 72 points
2. Geelong: 72 points
3. Syd: 64 points
4. Port have Adelaide, Carlton, Bulldogs = win, win, loss. 64 points
5. Melb: 62 points (if we lose to wce)

Thanks to the losses/draws to Adelaide, Hawks and Coll we must beat wce to sneak into the top 4.

The odds of us losing 2 of 3 is less likely than swans going 3 straight or port 2 from 3. Think of it this way to, if we do loose to wc cats have nothing to play for in round 23, they will have top 2 in the bag mean while we will be potentially playing for top 4. For anyone who is feeling a bit negative go and chuck a few hundred on swans to make top 4 you can currently get 3.20.

Harmes has lost all confidence and belief. He should do a Jack Watts and drop himself. The harder he tries the worse he gets.

I was one who was suggesting a rest for LJ and surely you can see the reasons why, the bloke had hardly touched the ball in a month!

Glad he had a ripping game but not sure why you would take pot shots at posters who was suggesting the need for a rest given his dramatic form slump prior to yesterday.

It's pretty easy to hold back you opinion until after the event and claim you knew he was going to turn it around the whole time.

Nah...look at my post last week and you will see why we needed to keep him in.

If TMAC missed, might be time to look at something different. Perhaps Joel Smith or Daw up forward.

Id like to see Viney replaced. Perhaps by a small forward. Jones would be a better option.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
