We can’t play Viney and Sparrow in the same team again.

Both have a fetish for poor turnovers and holding the ball.

I’m a Harmes fan but he was shocking today. He plays his best football as a tagger but we don’t play him that way which is odd.

McDonald’s goal kicking is a huge worry, Langdon hasn’t been good for two months and overall we are a much sloppier version of the team at the start of the year.

I hope we start rotating more players through the team because too many are comfortable with their spots and living off past performances.

Made the mistake if reading the end of the game day thread to read 11 of the last 12 whinging about inaccuracy, Viney and Harmes. What a sorry bunch a lot of you are. We sat on a plane for 8 hours yesterday and were switched on from the get go. The pressure was back and the structure was back and we started to look dangerous forward of the ball. Good team effort back, mid and forward with room for improvement. Bowey fitted the level like a glove.

It's doing my head in. There's no doubt we should be happy about the win....if you actually want to be happy. Hard going reading relentlessly negative comments.

Great win, yes, but once again we kicked more behinds than goals. In the finals it will be OUR behinds that are kicked if we continue with this goal-kicking rubbish. Fair dinkum, they are professional in a game called FOOTball. Learn how to kick straight, PLEASE! When we kick more behinds than goals against good teams it is put down to pressure. But Today?

7 behinds were rushed and 5 posters so its about even.

29 of our 63 tackles came inside forward 50. Fair effort after the day they had yesterday. Not really fussed about 1.6 in the last quarter, game was over by half time.
Sparrow’s diving smother in the third exemplified the intent when 15 goals up.

Viney and Harmes weak links. Viney completely out of sorts and Harmes is just a poorly skilled footballer. Can’t carry both in a finals campaign

Langdon quiet again. Need him to find form for finals

....

Viney and Harmes deficient in the same areas - unable to break tackles, too often caught with the ball, and poor disposal.

Jack will hold his spot on the back of his tackling. I think JJ offers more than Harmes.

Re Langdon - he'll need to adapt his game when we play a K park where there are no wings (so to speak).

I thought Demonland would be safe after a 98 point win. Tough crowd!

That was as comprehensive a demolition I’ve seen in a long time. Sure it would have been nice to pile on a few more at the end, but it’s splitting hairs. 12 of the 20 behinds were posters or rushed. It’s the absolute dismantling of a bad side we’ve been waiting for all year. Great stuff.

Goal kicking accuracy single most important skill and statistic. We're poor and it will cost us a final. Its already cost us double chance possibly.

A positive post good to see. When you win by 98 there are no negatives. The negativity on this site never let you down

I hear Melbourne have cancelled their Perth hotel and are hiring a Boeing 737 instead.

I think you received the wrong booking from your informant. I heard it was going to be 4 x 6-seater Lear Jets with a stop-over in Adelaide for pie floaters, all around.

Under what circumstances would you not take a 98 point win?

What did you like today? Always room to get better but what were your three positives?

For those complaining about goal kicking accuracy, it probably pays to get a little more forensic than merely looking at goals and points.

I find the AFL app (surprisingly) good at giving a breakdown.

By my reckoning, that's 18 goals kicked, plus 13 points kicked (5 posters) and 7 rushed behinds.

What can be taken out of this game is hard to assess.

A positive is that we stared them down after quarter time. They seemed up to it until that point (albeit we had the edge in class, physical maturity and experience). However, we clearly were not going to blink, and when they realized that, they folded.

The Suns today did remind me a bit of some of our efforts from ‘12 to ‘13. We could put up token pockets of resistance, but if the hard questions were asked, the heads would drop, the discipline would evaporate and it was time to suppress another memory.

Another positive is seeing BBB with his kicking boots on. The back line was bloody sensational. It would have been demoralizing to have no real clean look in the small amount of forward fifty entries they got.

Choppers still looks all at sea, but I won’t harp. For those harping for us to bury a team this year, your wish has been granted.

I’m also going to stop making predictions. I thought we’d win, but in a close won (8 points). I thought we’d quilt the Hawks by 10 goals. I’m getting into Bill Kristol leagues in terms of bad predictions!

Pretty difficult to complain about a 98 point victory. This was the kind of win we needed given that we had to find a way to compensate for our underwhelming performances against Hawthorn and the bulldogs.

I was really pleased by some of the individual performances today. Jackson and Brown easily had their best games of the year. Oliver and Petracca are quickly becoming my favourite midfield duo. The only players who I'm slightly worried about are Viney and Harmes.

We were inaccurate in the second half but I'd still take a 16 goal win any day of the week.

Action Jackson will never be a Forward.

Just sewn up the Rising star award after today's performance.

Some on here seem to forget that % doesnt matter anymore with the draw....so as long as we win by a point its ok !

What a great answer the critics win by the Dees.

Why would they bust their gut in the last quarter with a 90 odd point lead with 2 road trips and finals coming up. Stupid.

30.8 would have looked nicer

Quickly! Take Harmes aside to congratulate him on his inside 50 entries and opportunities - these were terrific - then talk to him about kicking for goal and missing to the right of the big sticks. Then it might have been 30.8
