Brining in a VFL player for Viney? I think lockdown is starting to get to people.  Viney will tag Libba this week.

Well said, can’t believe the hate for Viney,

these are the same posters that hate Melksham but now seem to want him back in

tagging Libba would be the perfect task for Jack

While we’re at it maybe Harmes tags Bont & Salem into the midfield

Salem is to valuable coming out of the backline.

I’m flat, not sure where to start.. our centre work isn’t working, so need to start there. I’d like to bring Bowey in, Viney needs to go.. Max looked so flat tonight, was taking pills at half time.

Yep, Viney was caught on the outside of clearances at least three (3) times, only for the Hawks to shark Gawn and run clear...

Hey there Billy, I don't think it's purely individual hate mate, but I think it's just he's missed so much footy with our system, and it appears he needs some time to develop what he's lacking.

Red rag to a bull, he seems to always go the player without regard for how he's going to effect a possession.

Most of the time, Viney is an absolute champion, makes the rest of the team stand taller, and never gives up. But at this point in time, he generally makes poor kicking decisions (outside his capability/range), goes the man not the ball and generally finds himself in the wrong position a lot of the time.

I also doubt his leg speed to be able to run with Libba (maybe Johannisen instead). Don't get us wrong mate, we all love the Vines, we just expect more from him at this time of year.

Being the talent that we all know he can be when he's on, it's a bit of a double-edged sword as all of our expectations are quite high.

Weideman for Jackson - No way

Sparrow for Brayshaw - Brayshaw back to centre at the expense of Viney, Sparrow on bench ready to play

Bowey for Hibberd - no way, Bowey to wing on rotation with Sparrow and AVB (the latter a rotational hit-man & negator)

Jones for Viney - not this week, speed is required so both out of contention

Melksham for Neal-Bullen - might work but the Melk on notice to be a team instigator, not a contemptuous brat

Chandler for Pickett - stronger at the contest, so possibly a good move - and a rest for the learning Pickett

On notice - Brown - he will be a handful and now he has played, TMac and Fritta will be the wiser, as will the smalls

Love your work here (Dad)!

Yeah, I'd add to Brayshaw in centre, Melk out on HHF, Harmes in for a tagging role (Libba), probably Pickett out for a rest along with Viney.

I'm not sure how much training Brayshaw has done in the centre for a while, but he's clearly an accumulator when given the chance.

Hopefully we get to meet up at the G during the finals to watch our beloved team - it's been a while since we did that one together!

Cheers,

(Son)

This not turning up mentally to games against low ranked sides needs to stop. NOW. Send a message that complacency, laziness and/or poor skills will not be tolerated. I don't care if we do not win another game and finish bottom half of the 8, and get bundled out first week. Build a ruthless winning culture.

Weideman for Jackson

Sparrow for Brayshaw

Bowey for Hibberd

Jones for Viney

Melksham for Neal-Bullen

Chandler for Pickett

On notice - Brown

I’m not sure what I’m more confused about. Your selections above or which emoji to select to this post.

Exactly right. There's no hate for Vines from me, he just isn't right yet. Foot injuries take time to come back from.

The only issue with sending to the VFL to find form is there is no VFL at the moment.

I'm happy to bring Melksham in as well, but not sure for whom.

The good record against top sides i think is going to come to an end this week. Unfortunately. The Dogs are the goods this year and we will probably be our biggest rival in the years to come.

Yes i am writing us off and hope i get to eat my words, but this mental fragility was behind our fade-out in 2018 and will probably feature again in the remaining games.

Interestingly Gary Lyon gave a good synopsis of how we got beat by team placed 17th on the ladder. That was keep May and Lever occupied and put some work into Salem.

What’s confusing? Six ins, six outs. You don’t have to agree with it, it is a fan forum after all isn’t it?

Take a look at the ladder CYB. We're top.

Far out it doesn't take long for the defeatism to settle in around here. We've beaten all our Top 8 rivals this year remember including the Dogs. They were befuddled the last time we played them.

Saturday night was a shocker but we can bounce back. The coaching team will get a hold of the players this week and remind them how we got to the top in the first place. Roles and system.

We'll roll the dogs I reckon.

Dogs don’t like the heat. If we bring it, we win. If we don’t, we get a pasting.

ANB is a bit of a whipping boy on this forum

The suggestion of Melksham for ANB is flawed and fails to recognise the roles people are playing in this team. And we've heard the success this year is based on roles

ANB is in the team for his 2-way run, as well as being an effective small forward. Holding our defensive structure up the ground requires this run from our forwards. This is why Goodwin thinks more of him than many D'landers

Melksham does not bring the same 2-way run, in fact some on here suggest his defensive run and effort is poor at times.

I don't think ANB has been as bad as many are saying. But if he is to go out, it has to be for a runner (Bowey? Hunt/Hibberd fwd and someone else in back? Baker?)

I have nothing against ANB. I just think we need a bit of polish going into and inside forward 50. Melksham provides that, ANB was the only one I could think of to go out.

I think this is why we've seen very few changes. A lot of specific roles being played, and with some success it's hard to justify risking the balance.

We need some more polish, all over the park really, and I like Melksham for the clean touch

If Melksham were to come in, it's probably for either AvB, Pickett or Fritsch, none of whom deserve to be dropped... Making it difficult again

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
