We’re coming off the back of 2 excellent performances so confidence is sky high. We coasted for a few rounds before that but I don’t want to see us coast today. The pies have been terrible but they’ll lift for Buckley’s last game you’d think. I want to see a full-blooded effort, no prisoners taken. Ultimately wins are all that matters but given the opposition and context I want to see us smash the pies

Hoping all our Sydney brethren can get along to support the team and enjoy a great win over the old enemy

I will be there again bda - hope we can rustle up a good number of very vocal Dees supporters

Lived in Wang for a couple of years with my ex wife. Actually more so out at Markwood.

I feel sorry for you....

Going to the SCG for the first time today. Driving from Goulburn, just hope I don't get lost.

I'm not sure that's legal. Make sure you wear a fitted MND beanie.

I'd be more worries about what he's bringing from Wang

CARL GROTH!!!

SLOWLY I TURNED ... STEP BY STEP ... INCH BY INCH ...

Got 3 different pubs booked in 2 hour slots so I can get from the big freeze to the team belting out the song on licenced premises, with a few well timed short stumbles in between….

Home with Magpies husband and Demon dog this afternoon. I have too many memories  (bad ones) of losing on QB and the long silent trip home from the G.
Go Dees. Let’s get it done.

The standard lifted with my departure in 96.

Had much more fun playing Sunday cricket for the mighty demons!

Any idea what sort of cheque Gladys B  will be writing to us after the game?

Hopefully this is the last of the relocated games this year.

First live game in 18 months….

Just popped up the shops in my VFL retro hoodie, picked up a MND beanie for my beautiful fiancé. Before the game I’ll be breaking out the 2021 membership scarf out of its cryovacced packaging for her to wear, I’ll be running a 2014 of similar. Aiming to get to Moore Park about 1, enjoy some lunch then of to the G, the SCG.

Cant beat live footy, missed it so much.

That’s a pretty modest amount.
We must be desperate for every cent if we’re willing to sacrifice valuable MCG minutes, in preparation for finals.

Going well this year too are the Demons.  Just about lock for the flag if season can continue.

Playing in front of a crowd (any crowd) is also a big draw

By any logical measure of ability, experience, game-plan, form or class, the Dees win this by 8+ goals. Then enter the unknown impact of the Buckley factor to complicate the equation. I’m sticking with the the tangibles over the intangibles, and predicting a comfortable win to the Dees, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a smidge concerned about the alternative.  MFCSS is alive and well in the DOF household this morning.

The stats say the pies are taller, heavier, older and more games experience than us.

if we win the middle and disrupt their kick to kick setups we will win big.  Can see them running on emotion (like 60/40 green cordial) for a bit.  Gap them early and break their spirit.  Otherwise the flogs will hang in there till early in the third and we put a stamp on it.  Gawn to dominate, Weids to deliver. Go Dees

Im having a debate with a Collingwood supporter friend. How long has the QB match (Melb vs Collingwood) been going for. ie: how long is the tradition?

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
