Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Sorry,  getting in early here.

Some tasty and meaningful matches for neutral Melbourne supporter this weekend.

Im actually quite worried about the Cats, as we obviously played them without Cameron, so my preference is for a Port win.

I’d also rather West Coast to miraculously win against Richmond whilst being injury depleted.

Im not sure which permeate room suits us better in throes matches?

Depends how optimistic you are re the rest of the MFC season

If you're into insurance mode you want the interstate teams to lose thus minimising the chance of a first final interstate.

A counter thought to this theory is which team is more likely to overtake us.

Very difficult as all three of Geelong, Brisbane and Port are on 32 points at present.

Port..simply because the Geelong inclusions may not be match fit and Eagles for the fun of it.

Port are an interesting team. They are missing the speed and youth of Butters and Dursma. Their team looks slow in the midfield without them.  I expect their form to turn around and Dixon to kick a few bags soon. I expect Port to be our biggest threat by the end of the year

The Cats I still don't rate, but they keep proving me wrong. hopefully the next 3 weeks the Cats get found out

Depends upon who or where you would rather play (only if we have to play an away qualifying match if we lost form dramatically Which won't happen)

Adelaide Oval (Port)

Marvel (Dogs) possible MCG

GMBH (Cats) probable MCG

Gabba (Lions

MCG (Tigers)

Personally I would not be phased with any but Cats at GMBH straight after around 23 might be a double up opportunity to good to miss out on!!

Ya! Me too @JTR - but some folk on here give it some really good analysis - which isn't my bag to design, but love reading it.

Mind you - 3 weeks in a row (and after beating The Bulldogs and Brisbane) THIS still happens!!

Interesting...

On that scenario Geelong would play its first final at Kardinia Park... Geelong v WC

Could also result in no matches at all in Vic in the second round of the finals

Bulldogs to lose only one match going forward (presumably against us) is an interesting prediction. You may also have underestimated Brisbane by a game or two.

Fascinating though and thanks

Jeepers @Engorged Onion you're clearly a fan of what the Dogs are doing if you've got them only losing one match out of Geelong (in Geelong), West Coast (in Perth), Sydney, us (at the MCG) and Port Adelaide!

Having said that, there's not a huge difference between finishing 1st or 2nd, but there is a massive difference between finishing 2nd or 3rd when two of the next three best sides are Brisbane and Port.

Melb Fc unlocked the  Dogs in their most emphatic performance for the year and I think other quality teams will/could do the same. Dogs being on top is a bit Over The Top.

On this theory I have the dogs only winning 5 more games. Port Bombers Dees Eagles and Geelong will all be tricky for them.

If that beat that then well done to Beveridge to re-set strategy a bit.

Tell ya what, both teams defensive efforts are pretty dismal. Fun to watch a shootout tho.
Rozee is not a bad player!

Let’s go Port. My hatred for Geelong cannot be explained in words.

Just turned it on - watching 7, listening SEN - how good is it goal kicker not being pulled off the ground …. except he has been after his 4th.
Suck it up, Cats

I think this is the first Port game I have seen this year.

Is Rozee someone new? Any prior form?

How many decades can I watch the same Geelong players? Just retire already. So sick of this team.

Lovin your work tonight Jaded. Feels like Selwood and Hawkins have been playing since the early 90’s!

Selwood getting done for holding the ball is maybe my favorite moment in football each week. Except for when Danger flops and doesn’t get a free.

Port look good. Geelong look old. Can’t run with Port. I’m excited for when they all retire and become Hawthorn 2.0.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
