Umpires’ goal for a fifty metre penalty that wasn’t there then a “mark” that bounced off the ground to Kennedy. What a joke win!!!

Not a bad weekend of football. Even the rubbish games at least went to the wire. Gee Damien Hardwick is insufferable.

West Coast are unfit. Watch Nic Nat blow up at some point in the second half. Richmond will run over the top of them and win by a few goals

Or the other way around...

Clearly one of the games of the year, and the earlier North V GWS game was pretty damn good as well. An excellent day’s footy.

If West Coast are to finish top 4 and go on to make a GF, I reckon they’ll look back at the Carlton win last week more so than tonight. They were not really supposed to beat Carlton with all their outs and then be on the verge of missing finals. Sure enough they won the game and now they find themselves in the top 4 mix.

They’re a dangerous side with Kelly, Shuey and McGovern to return.

Richmond only have to play 2 other top 8 sides for the rest of the season. So good result. How did last years premiers get such an easy run home?

BT calling the Tigers across the line and talking up their second halves of seasons......

They are getting awfully close to that 9th spot

Where they belong.

Clutch from West Coast, but "the Tigers of old..." what a crumble. Yeo is a superstar. Did he win the last 10 clearances? Insane last quarter.

Just keep in mind they've flown across the Nullabour 4 times in 7-8 days,  you could see they were spent in the last 10 mins. Still a massive threat with several stars to return.

Oh that hurts! So glad to see the Toigs chuck that one ? especially given their next 5 games….

Over to you Freo ??

Good game but a little bit open style of play. The cokers are a different set of numbers at home.

Talking on the radio about how hard it is to win the premiership from outside the top 8. They said it’s only been done twice. Bulldogs and Adelaide in 98. Woewodin cut them straight off “no, that doesn’t count! In the current system they would have been out in the first week” ?

Right, time for my beauty sleep. Gonna be a big day tomorrow. Hasta mañana!

To be fair, 2 of the bottom 8 sides they are playing in their next 9 games were finals teams from last year. When the draws were created it would have been  4 of 9 games against top 8 sides

I'd go as far to say it's impossible. ?

That was the better result for us. The more losses Richmond cop, the better. They have the easier run home compared to West Coast so it's better they stay a notch down.

COVID aside, 6 of their last 9 games are at the MCG and the three road trips are GC, Fremantle and GWS.

stop worrying about Richmond

unless Dusty has a blinder they are 50/50 against the top ten teams

Brisbane are on the way up and if you want to win this year is it

Well they've now played all other top 8 sides for a 1-6 record. They haven't played 9th (Fremantle) and fell over the line against 10th (GWS).

So they're 2-6 against the top 10.

Their other wins? 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 17th.

It's not about the run home, it's about the double-up matches.

Richmond's five double-up matches are St Kilda, Brisbane, Geelong, GWS and Hawthorn.

So that's a 2020 GF runner up, prelim finalist and semi finalist, alongside a side many expected to bounce back (GWS) and Hawthorn.

Lucky for them St Kilda fell to pieces and GWS remained mediocre.

So yes, they only have two other top 8 sides left for the year, but they've played all 7 of us already. Compare that with West Coast or Sydney, who've only had 4 games against top 8 sides so far this year.

Eagles definitely lacking in the last 40 seconds defensive drills.

I suppose they had the two guys back on the goal line but once it was in the Eagle's forward line it should have remained in their half.

Very much appreciate this explanation. ?

Clearances don’t matter according to some here.

Overrated according to Clarkson when they were winning flags too.

Yeah, but 6-6-6 wasn't a rule when Hawks were winning flags.

Not impossible. Carltank had the chance to do it in 2013!

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
