No wonder we lost to this juggernaut. Crows a sneaky chance for the 8? Mathematically possible?

Maggotly possible.

2 quick goals and adelaide are less than 4 goals down with a half to play. And with the way they're playing they could get a lot closer than that.

Called it (sort of).

Another cheap free kick

Poor umpiring

That was 100% a free for a high tackle… was always there. St Kilda lost this game regardless of the umpiring. To have the lead they did in what was a low scoring game and then lose, speaks volumes for where they’re at as a team.  It’s no different to our loss to Adelaide… everyone loves to blame the umpires because that’s easy, but the reality was that we gave up a match winning lead through our own ineptitude.

The ball bounced over the line. Saints had no-one on the line when up by a point in the last minute at a stoppage.

They are a shambles

Crows ran the game out, Saints could barely walk. Absolutely smashed the Saints in the last. 36-0 up and then 54-18…no excuses.

The Saints kicked one goal in a half of footy and got out run and out worked.

that’s why they lost

Who'll go first, Teague or Ratten? Will be the news for the next week or so.

They’ll both be gone by years end.

clubs foolishly signing on caretaker coaches coz they win a few meaningless games.

St Kilda topped up thinking they’re Geelong, when in fact unlike Geelong their core is mediocre and they have poor leadership and no finals experience. Poor choice.

You just can't believe that last season not only did the saints make finals they defeated the bulldogs in the first week.

To not kick a goal in the final term, I mean the saints win and they would have gone to 9th. Instead the crows have passed them.

If Ratten does not get the chop after being so far ahead in a game and still managing to coach his team to a loss, then I will be gobsmacked!

How come Dean Kent can't get a game for that rabble?

I presume injured?
Ratten said this week they had 25 fit players on the list so could just fill a team sheet. He was happy they could name 4 emergencies.

Because, like when he was with us, he was either injured or not up to it?

It was poor - but they had so few players available you can’t read too much into it.

For what it’s worth I really rate Ratten. He had our midfield performing above where it should have been when he was midfield coach, and I think he understands the game really well.

They were a better team when he was in it last year. Must be a long term injury.

The only supporter base that has suffered more than Melbourne, is St Kilda. 1 premiership in eleven thousand decades and 27 spoons. Oh dear.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
