I don't think I'll ever stop being annoyed that we lost that game against Adelaide. I mean, it may be the last thing I say before I die "I wish we hadn't lost to the bloody croowwssss…"

Then I cark it.

Got to hand it to Clarko. he is a genius they way he plans for games. As some of the media said clarko has had 10 days to plan for this and how to beat Sydney. It is a good win.

Jai Newcombe 12 tackles in his first game after getting taken in the mid season draft a few weeks ago. There is a kid that just wants to play footy and will grab his chance and make the most of his opportunity.

In no way am I having a go at you personally dees189227, but I am getting sick of the clarko is a genius stuff.

He is a great coach and has clearly done well with all the flags, but I love how they beat the swans and he is a genius (you said it, but also all the papers and radio have run with it today).

Just wondering how much of a genius he has been for the remainder of the games they have played this year?

Just a little gripe of mine.

2.  Taking a mark in the forward line then walking back not facing the goals.

Don't turn your back on the play! It's like a bowler not getting behind the stumps for the fielder's throw in. Or a batsman turning for a second run with his back to the fielder.

It's so basic to the craft, it's a miracle that coaches allow it.

We also see so many players who are one sided and practically helpless on their "wrong" side. About as good on their "wrong" side as I am on my "right" side. What are they being taught?

They're also not allowed to do goal shooting practice. In case it interferes with the things that can win matches. It's upside down land.

Yes we were done over by the maggots in the last few plays, but we should never have allowed them back into range after mid Q4, with our superior fitness.
IMO the defence looked disorganized … missed Salem more than realized.
And overall a team only needs to be a little bit off and … bingo.
Just hope we have learned from the experience (Goody’s “learnings”) and don’t let it happen again.

Will need to be right on song on Monday.

Colonwood will either be flat as a pancake in which case we should be relentless to boost %, or really switched on and will take a full team effort to overcome

And, yes … Adelaide very ordinary tonight.

Easier to be a genius when you pick up players like Franklin, Hodge, Roughead, Rioli, Lewis and Mitchell in successive drafts then have the rest of the competition hobbled by the expansion teams of GC and GWS while you're on top.

I won't be convinced of his genius till he does it again.
Either with Hawthorn or some other club.

Whatever you think of him, his evolution of the flood into "Clarkos Cluster" changed the game and won flags. You don't three-peat by just being lucky.

Sure helps for my reasons above.
Also helps when the rest of the competition is hobbled in the draft and you're cherry picking players chasing success from opposition clubs.
Same goes for Geelong through the same time period.

I'm hoping the Crows win this. The saints fans are in mutinous mood as it is. Coughing up a 6 goal lead will tip them over the edge

Umpires influencing this result too.

BS free on the goal line and then two saints players held down on the mark and the ump just brings the kick back when it should have been reversed

Does Adelaide have the umps on a retainer

That's one of the worst misses ever. Just needed a point and missed the lot.

And he's just redeemed himself. sensational back to the goal kick

No wonder we lost to this juggernaut. Crows a sneaky chance for the 8? Mathematically possible?

Agree about the goal line free but this bolded part is absolute garbage. Umpire did the right thing by calling it back.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
