Are we the only team that has giant heads of our players in the crowd? Why do we do it? Surely it'd be weird as a player seeing your giant smiling head looking down at you. It's weird isn't it?

no weirder than kicking around an inflated pigskin and making big bucks

Let's not get existential. Pretty sure it's just us that does the giant heads. It's weird.

I believe that Geelong thought this may have happened.

But then they just realized Brad Ottens was sitting with the cheer squad.

Sheesh..

Far worse [censored] going in the world then worrying about a couple of giant cardboard heads at a football game.

Wouldn't mind seeing a few hundred giant heads of fans in the empty stadiums just to make things a bit fun.

Maybe Nibbler's mum beaming down on everyone and giving blessings to all good Demons! :D

Could be a raffle prize - "Be the giant head for round 17."

All fun and games till ya sitting behind the giant heads.

Yeah - every time I see them I think how annoyed I’d be to be sitting behind ‘em.

To answer the question, I'm certain I saw another club's cheersqusd had then earlier in the year but can't remember who

Perhaps they could double up and have a bloke playing a comically giant bugle? ???

Oh man, so much. I don't care about our reputation as toffs, but that used to kill me.

Looks like no one else is curious.

The only other time I've seen them is something like a giant Kim Kardashian putting off a free throw in the NBA. Where do they even get them from?

Someone in the press reads this thread and next thing you know a headline reads "Demons concerned about too many big heads".

I like our oversized heads.

MOAR HEADZ i say !!

Love them.

No issues at all, I think that add great colour to the crowd.

I'm sure that someone on here could confirm, but I think they belong to the Demon Army (or were at least instigated by them) and were found to be a great way to include members.  On the basis that they are used in the Demon Army, I don't think there'd be any real objections to them from the other people sitting around them ( i.e. other members of the Demon Army ).

Not surprising as the ball doesnt tend to go up our opponents end lately...

They are created by demon supporting local printers and graphic designers

Yes quite right. It's only our boots that are going up our opponent's ends this year

Yeah, there’s wars, famine and a pandemic, so let’s not talk about anything else ever.

Might as well close the site down if “there’s worse things happening” is the barrier of entry for a conversation. Pretty much everything we worry about on here is trivial compared to the world’s problems.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.

  • CASEY: Collingwood

It was freezing cold at Mission Whitten Stadium where only the brave came out in the rain to watch a game that turned out to be as miserable as the weather.
The Casey Demons secured their third consecutive victory, earning the four premiership points and credit for defeating a highly regarded Collingwood side, but achieved little else. Apart perhaps from setting the scene for Monday’s big game at the MCG and the Ice Challenge that precedes it.
Neither team showcased significant skill in the bleak and greasy conditions, at a location that was far from either’s home territory. Even the field umpires forgot where they were and experienced a challenging evening, but no further comment is necessary.
